Justed posted news about the BlueTooth Remote Camera software update for the NX70.
After posting it I went down to our local Sony facility and borrowed one of their BT cameras. It was a little of a fudge, but once the two systems were talking it was true magic. The possibilities are endless. Placing a camera in a room and remoting to it. Using the system as a security unit. The obvious is that you do not need to heft the way too bulky and short battery life NZ just for the camera, but could get a cheep BT camera to act as lense to the NX.
I did not find out the maximum number of cameras can be linked on one system but it could be fun.
A recommended must for all NX70 owners:

Good luck.

Now we just need a webcam feature for the NX/NZ series that works with WiFi and bluetooth.

Yep, I am VERY interested in this feature! I'm surprised by how well the remote viewfinder feature works through the supposedly slow Bluetooth... I wonder if it works with Sony's BT camcorders? That would be amazing.

Hi Feefd,
Okay, might be useful to explain a couple of things and then you can read my mini-review.
Firstly, there are some digital cameras out there that are Bluetooth-enabled. The ones to look for support the BIP (Basic Image Protocol). This allows a client (be it a desktop, laptop or PDA) that is also BIP-enabled to remote manage/control this BIP-enabled camera.
On Monday, CliePlanet posted news of software that includes both a BIP interface and viewing software for the Sony NX70.
Owning the DSC-FX77, a 4-megapixel, BIP-enabled camera, I loaded up the software from the link described on the CliePlanet webpage onto my NX70.
I am now able to use my DSC-FX77 as a wireless webcam, using my NX70 as the viewer. In addition, I can take pictures.

Sorry, put a space in-between the link as I pasted it in ... here I go again :)

Incidently, this link also talks about the Remote Cam software. Even if you do not own a BIP-enabled camera, you should at least download the file and read the manual (only a few pages in html) ... It has snapshots of what this achieves -- be prepared to be impressed :)

Hmmm, wonder why & were automatically inserted ??
One last try ... if it still doesn't come through as a clickable link, just copy n' paste between the & into your browser :) :) :)
