It'd be interesting to hear if both batteries behave the same or if they've experienced differences between the two.... I'd like to purchase another on for "just in case". Be a bit of a hassle to charge both overnight, but I imagine if you used the 2nd as more of an emergency battery you could recharge over the weekend w/o to much fuss.
BTW, I'm on my 17th cycle, one deep discharge/overnight recharge and still only get 5hr-9min at 100%. Not complaining, just reporting.

I think it is pretty pointless to have extra batteries when the only way to charge the batteries is inside the NZ so you can only do one at a time. It is a great idea though, if they would just make a seperate charger for the batteries.

I ordered an extra Battery, Can't help you right now, Backordered , ETA 2 1/2 week. And of all the websites I checked they were the only one that said they had it in inventory...

Got one, I keep the spare full so that I can take pictures if needed.
Same behavior for the 2 batteries as of now, I am at 16 cycles on the main one with a couple of deep discharges and 0% degradation. I get also my good 5h+ of battery usage.
Not really a problem to recharge the 2 batteries in the unit up to now.

i agree that was my biggest concern until someone finds a way to do thes i will probably by a car adapton and one extra cradle for work
I just bought an NZ a few days ago and the battery seems to be working fine. I am planning to purchase a second one also for that just in case scenario. Today I took about 3 or 4 pics with flash and spent the about 6 hours working with it and my PC to setup bluetooth with hot sync and such. All in all it was out of the cradle at least 8 hours and most of it was idle time. Sorry I didn't check what the battery level was when I cradled it for the evening but will pay more attention to that in the future. Also I didn't get any warnings about low levels...

Good to hear 5 hours is the norm for a full charge. Btw, how are you guys on a days usage? Not nessasarly(sp) with alot of pictures, just how much battery time do you have left in a day.

I've had really good luck with my NZ so far. I'm traveling right now, and haven't charged it since Monday...only down to about 80% after a couple of flash shots and 5-10 minutes of use here and there in conjunction with my laptop. I've got a couple of spare batteries as well but have yet to use them.
With all the threads I have read, I consider myself lucky in that I don't see the battery problems everyone else seems to be having, and I haven't gone through the "battery conditioning" that everyone is talking about either...
I'm seeing about 5-6 hours a day if I use the NZ extensivly though.
So far I have taken two pictures (no flash) and installed numerous programs, deleted some unwanted stuff, and setup a directory structured MS. I installed all programs and their accessory files by hot syncing via bluetooth. Unit has run steadily since 7 a.m. and it is now 10. Battery is at 63% so I guess I would say that is a good thing. It sure works for me as my old iPAQ 5455 would be close to dead now and I never did get bluetooth working on it so who knows how that would have affected it. Maybe I just got real lucky with my unit but I am more and more impressed each day I use it.

bobb- really? BT worked on my old 5455.
BT was just one of several issues I had with the 5455. I couldn't get the HP to ActiveSync via Bluetooth. Called Belkin and they said the issue is HP and they did convince me. We got FTP to work great so the adapter was fine. HP didn't really put forth much effort, faxed a few documents to me but all in all the techs couldn't help. I get the NZ90 and had it up and running very quickly. I am a happy camper now....
Do you still have the 5455? Just curious...

no. a different problem with the 5455. It would hardreset for no reason. and graphics would get screwed up.
I had read about that in the Brighthand iPAQ conferences. My issues were with Bluetooth, WiFi (Killing my battery), Biometric reader causing hard resets, and pixel degeneration of the screens. I tried two separte units and both had similar issues. Still very glad that I made the switch to the Sony...

I must say I never had a problem with the fingerprinter reader. It worked great. Bluetooth was good, wifi would kill the battery but then I think it would on any handheld. And I had that pixel problem
Looks like we both made the right move changing to the NZ. Still trying to get the web browsing working with my home network, cable modem, using BT. Getting closer I think, at least it says I am connected but you couldn't tell it by looking at the browser...(grin)
