It has been suggested to me that this would be the best forum for this:

Please accept my apologies if my question is silly.

I have noted that some plucky, intelligent people have been able to fiddle with their Flash ROMS, and I am hopeful that some advice may be afforded to me.

I was foolish: an absolute idiot. I had thought that a Japanese NX73V at a great price was budgetarily orgasmic, based upon the belief that it would be simple to change to (at the very least to be predominantly) English. I've fiddled with ROM's/BIOS' on burners, graphics cards and computers, so I figured that I would be able to do this with the sort of ease generally associated only with the use of lubricants.

I was wrong. I also can't read Japanese (I'll learn - in time - I promise).

What I am hoping is that someone with an English NX73V is able - and willing - to provide a simpleton from the wrong side of the tracks with a backup of their ROM. I'd also love any tips on flashing a respective ROM file on.

Thank you so very much for your time and help.

Your only option is to learn japanese.

I fear Egalus is right. I don't think anyone has succeded yet in overwriting the OS of the Clie series.

Here's your first japanese lesson : Sep-pu-ku (tasteless joke that sorry)

You might consider getting a launcher (like zlauncher) and that way most of what you see will be in english. You might also want to install the UX multimedia apps, the TH version of NF and something like Datebook5 to further make things into english.

As meir said, change all the interface you use to english programs and you are almost done.

Use a launcher, and get the most programs you can from a TH english, and put them into your NX japanese, and you will get everything you use into english.
