Uh, MMPlayer is good. Be prepared to keep a backup of your handheld memory though, it's unstable. (Don't know if it reads from CF)

.dat is simply MPEGs in a particular encoding format. Yes, they can be played, provided you have the codec for it. MMPlayer would probably do it.

The only player that i know for sure that reads from CF is MoviePlayer 1.1.
Plays only MQVs and MPEGs (MQV is basically quicktime files with a particular audio format).

image converter + CF movie player is probably your best choice for quality and ease of use.

Kinoma is good player (it supports HiFi audio in CLIE using ADPCM after 2.2). But it video codec is the old one, file size is too big compared w/ other players (MMPlayer using DivX, Xvid, MoviePlayer using QT MPEG4).

And Kinoma Producer is commerial program, you need to pay for full functions.

Sony's MoviePlayer is the best choice, IMHO. It is free (both player and converter). But you need to make some changes (use UX's MoviePlayer and CF driver) before using CF for video playback. You can make searches in here or video forum for details.

BTW, there is a weak point using CF in MoviePlayer is can't seek during playback when CF is > 256MB (you can seek when stopped the playback).
