OK, I admit it, I'm a novice Palm Tunsten T3 user. Everything seems to be working great except for one thing...every time I try to sync all is normal until I reach the "Clean-up" stage at the end of the sync process. The note, "Connection has been lost" comes up and the Palm shuts down.

Any suggestions on how to finsh the sync process...?

Thanks

What apps do you have loaded? What other conduits besides the Palm standards? Although it sounds on the surface like a connection problem, in reality it's probably a software conflict of some sort.

Tanker Bob:

Thank you very much for your quick reply and offer to help.

As I should have said in my original note, the Palm is right out of the box with no other conduits and just the std. apps. I know that dosn't help much to zero in on the problem.

Thanks

Hmmm. First I'd ensure that the T3 sits securely and squarely in the cradle. Sometimes mine sits slightly to one side or the other, and it won't sync or charge unless centered up. If that doesn't work, try to soft reset the T3. Lastly, try reinstalling the Palm Desktop over itself. Make sure that you have administrator priviledges on Win2K or WinXP.

Sorry for not responding sooner, just got back from July 4-5 holiday. I will try your suggested solutions ASAP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks again

You also might want to check PalmOne's site for an updated Palm Desktop. I had some issues with the one included with my T3 (mainly just hot sync crashing halfway through) that the updated version fixed.

Gentlemen:

Thank you both for your ideas / sync fixes for my T3.

I’m still running Win98 on an older computer. I’ve been advised that I should upgrade my computer and system to get the most out of the computing experience and to optimize using the T3. This is something I’ve been planning to do anyway.

I’m going to do the computer / system upgrades and then reinstall the T3 software and try your fixes if needed. I’m hoping this will do the trick. Until I accomplish all this, I’ll end this thread here and restart if all the above fails.

Thanks again.
