Hi,

I've finally had the chance to play with my TJ37, and I'm not regretting it one bit, even if Sony's not going to produce any more Clies for a while. It's simply amazing at how fast it runs (well, i'm comparing it to a SJ20) and the screen is just amazing.
Anyways...

I've had the Fellowes Stowaway keyboard for the Sony Clie for quite some time now, and i've never had any problems with it, ever. However, I've tried installing the driver on to my new TJ37, and NOTHING happens. the application on the Clie runs fine, and i can pretty much do everything that i could on my old SJ20, EXCEPT TYPE USING HTE KEYBOARD. for some reason, the 37 doesn't recognize the keyboard i think, which may be a driver problem since it's old (version 1.9.6). I've checked the Fellowes website, and couldn't find any driver updates.

Has anyone else had this problem, or a problem similar to mine? I'd really appreciate any help any one could give me.

Thanks in advance guys,

daver

I've got the same problem with my TH55.
Here are my observations so far:

--Strange behavior. At first could not get the keyboard to work at all.
--switched Hotsync to local, now keyboard works intermittently.
--Any touch to the screen, or press of function keys on the keyboard and it will stop working.
--Sometimes it will stop working in the middle of a sentence.
--Sometimes it will stop working if I pause in my typing for a few seconds.
--Sometimes, but not always, undocking & redocking the keyboard will start it working again.
--When first docking, sometimes, but not always, the Clie will switch to hotsync.

Thanks for the info. I needed to hear this because I wouldn't know how to fix any potential problems.

Has anyone heard of similar problems with Belkin?

Hi guys,

Just a week ago I solved my stupid keyboard problem. Instead of going to the Fellowes website (www.fellowes.com - duh) I went to the ThinkOutside website, which had a newer update for the Fellowes Stowaway Keyboard for the Sony Clie. Now everything works perfectly fine, except once in a while I have to re-enable the keyboard driver, probably just a bug in the driver or something.

As for the Belkin keyboard, I've heard of many minor issues such as shortcut keys (ie ctrl+c) don't work in some third party apps like Docs to Go. As for the Belkin driver, I don't know if it's updated for the TJ37. However, there is a 1src member who has made his own FULLY FUNCTIONAL driver for the Belkin keyboard. I've forgetten which thread it is, but I know that it's floating around somewhere.

Both the Fellowes and Belkin keyboards are still options for you okcstewart, as well as the Sony PEG-KB100 and many others. I suggest you read the other threads regarding keyboards in the forum. That way you'll get many other peoples' opinions.
