Recently my LauncherX 1.02 crashes intermittently when swapping memory sticks on my T-665. Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, what have you done to fix it?

I have a 665C and was part of the beta testing program with Launcher X. I had the same error as you with memory sticks (and problems using MSImport) when I was using PiDirect II version 2.2.

When I began using version 2.0 of PiDirect II, the memory stick related issues I was seeing went away. I believe my crashes had to deal with PiDirect not disabling itself properly on my device. It works fine with version 2.0 however.

I contacted PiTech about the issues and they were no assistance, however OcellNuri and spradlinb spent some time with me in chat (when it was still around) and helped me track down the culprit.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply JC2K! I am using PIDirect II Version 2.2. Now I have to find a way to downgrade PIDirect...

Now that I think about it, do I need PIDirect with LauncherX? Won't LauncherX perform basically the same functions as PIDirect?

if you go to the pitech website (http://www.pitech.com) and look in the downloads section, you should find it.

Or, you can just click here (http://www.pitech.com/download/pidirect2/PiDirect_II_v2.0.zip)

:)

I use PiDirect as it is faster at loading read-only files from the stick as it doesn't have to move the "entire" file over. I began using PiDirect during the beta testing process for LX although I also wondered if it would be useful.

Currently, keeping RifleSLUGS II on the MS takes 1.5 seconds to load using PiDirect II. That kind of speed is worth using PiDirect for me. I think the 665C doesn't like v2.2 though, so grab the one above. Your current registration information should be good.
