View Full Version : Who's Using Firefox? 1src Loads Slow

I'm using Mozilla Firefox 0.9.1 on WinXP pro at work, connecting to the internet on a T1 line (I think; it's fast).
Just about all the other sites I visit load much faster than they did with Internet Explorer, except for 1src.
Frquently only the 1src logo loads, I have to use the refresh button or high-light the URL in the address window and press Enter to get the rest of the page.

Are any other Firefox users experiencing this slowness? Other than this, Firefox is a great browser.

1src loads without problems over here...
Firefox 0.9.1, Mozilla 1.7, Opera 7.51, Safari, Omniweb 5b8, and Camino 0.8

It might be the ad servers acting up. As a test, try loading Brighthand, we use the same ad servers.

I am using Firefox 0.9.1 right now to access this page on my WindowsXP SP2 laptop. Pages load instantaneously. BTW I'm on a Cable modem right now.

Thanks to this thread I am now using Firefox 0.9.1 (just upgraded from 0.8). 1src loads fine for me.

I'm using 0.8 (i hate upgrading :p), and it's fine for me. Last week the ads were loading slow.

I'm using the most current version of Firefox and haven't noticed any considerable delays.

Thanks for the feedback.
Actually since I posted, the page loading has been fine :)
Maybe that's all I had to do :D

I've noticed slow or no loading of some pages using IE6 on DSL. It seems to relate to a banner ad that doesn't completely load. If I hit Stop and then F5, the page loads instantly. I noticed the same problem occasionally on ClieSource so I think it's bad code in some ads that cause the problem.

I agree with Jim on this one. I have had problems with both sites & with this one especially just a day or two ago with IE6. It was so painfully slow to load any page that I just gave up.

Jim may be right on the reason or not but the basic fact is, regardless of your browser, it may just be the site, at times. Just come back later. ;)

Hi, as I can see I have some Firefox buddies around I can now ask for help, just wondering if any of you found that the drop down menus were covered by the adverts. I have got round this by turning unpage related stuff off but it means I have trouble navigating Yahoo. Anyone any ideas.

I've not experienced what you describe.

They didn't before. This has just been fixed. The drop down menus used to open behind the ads...very annoying.

Same here. Using latest version of Firefox, loads super fast. Maybe it's your connection speed which is sluggish, happens to me too
