You need drivers, search for them on google. I dont have the link sorry. I got my T616 phone working with my UX50 though.

rlc, i dont know who your provider is, normally you should try and enter as much relevent[sp] info you can. But, like AT&T you can go to there website and it downloads the specs or settings you need right to the phone, just give them the number, I am sure others offer this too. might try them first

I just set this up with T-Mobile. Amazingly their Tech Support got the setup correct on the first go (I checked threads here to ensure succcess). They said the connnecton would be "live" in 2-24 hours, and about 3 hours after I called it was working. The nice thing is that I plan to use it on certain long business trips only; they will turn it on/off depending on the month you need it. So instead of $240 per year (12 x $20) I 'll pay a lower amount.

Note with most devices if you have a BT phone paired with a device, the BT headphone cannot be used at the same time!

Mine is with T-Mobile as well. Do you have to extend your contract every time you change your access? I'm not sure what I will be using it for yet (Internet, SMS, whatever). I was just curious about the capabilities of the phone. I have paired it with my desktop system, but it won't sync reliably. I was planning on getting a BT earpiece for hands free. What one do you use?

I'm with T-Mobile. I thought they were the only ones selling this phone in the US.

Don't bother with trying to type in all the settings, use the Mobile Connection Wizard: http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/clie/conwiz/softupdates/

I also have a Belkin BT handsfree, it works great - sure wish the UX was able to use that also.

To sync with Outlook, open "my bluetooth places," then view devices in range, then open your 610, then discover services, then open IrMC sync (assuming you have the phone paired with your PC). It will ask you to allow the sync for a certain number of minutes.

<<Do you have to extend your contract...>>

What I plan on doing is to stop the service, saying it wasn't that useful (after July when I need it) then turn it on again when I have another busy travel month. They didn't mention that, but maybe as I've been with them for 4 years+

<<...just curious about the capabilities...>>

Yes, all that and more. Secure corporate WebMail. Check eBay. Take a photo and e-mail it to someone. Take a video and e-mail it. Chat with your kids on AOL. Surf privateshots.com at lunch with your buds.

<<I have paired it with my desktop system, but it won't sync reliably.>>
Not that it will help you if you don't have one, but Mac OSX with iSync does a great job of Laptop->phone->UX50 synch.

<<I was planning on getting a BT earpiece for hands free. What one do you use?>>
I love the BlueSpoon Chameleon, not cheap, but looks and feels great. Actally looks like a big tick stuck in your ear, but so what.

As for Mobile Connect Wizard, I've heard good things, but it won't work unless you can get the UX50 to synch with Windows. I'm using VirtualPC6/XPpro on a Mac G4 AlBook and I am having the same problem that a LOT of PC users have; failure to connect or hanging after "identifying user". Entering the few settings isn't that bad.
