LauncherX - Bad Support - Don't Buy!!!!

I purchased the software as soon as it came out and was forced to change to a different reg code in version 1.02 because their reg system was different from 1.00 to 1.02.  My computer died and I lost the reg code for 1.02.  I have emailed the people at LauncherX, support.bozidar@launcherx.com for over 2 weeks every day and have never gotton a reply.

Do not buy this software and do not support this company.  The product basically sucks and is behind all the other replacement launchers.

They have no support and there hasn't been an upgrade since the release of  1.02.

If you are looking for good developer support, nothing comes even close to Zlauncher. not to mention it is a kick a$$ launcher.

I'm waiting on him for a regkey as well.

This goes way beyond just being behind in his support queue. It's been at least two months for me with multiple emails to the guy.

I'd be worried about him dead or something if he didn't have a history of disappearing 4 months at a time.

Somebody knows what his deal is, but nobody is talking. Has ANYBODY received any sort of support from him since 2002?

He's still taking people's money.

I have the same experience as you did. We should post a warning here for people who want to buy LauncherX. Think twice before you buy it. If still you purchase it, you should keep your registration code in a safe place because there will be no support in the future. The guy is just too busy in making money. He just does not give it damn for your request.

registered it for my wife's last Friday night and received the registration info on Sunday. I ordered direct from the site, not through Palmgear, etc.

The reg came from Boziar Benc who originally developed the program...so at least he was alive and well last Friday. :-)

there is a *gasp* keygen for launcher x out there for anyone who has lost their keygen. I unfortunately bought it the first day it came out... stupid me, this is one warez that I can fully support.

I typically don't support warez software...but in this case...

I've been using a version I found on the months ago (v 1.02, fully registered, no "wrong apps" bugs). Cost me $0.00.

If the guy isn't responding, forget about him and find a copy on the Net. You can avoid the "wrong app" bug if you follow the correct installation procedure. Maybe that'll wake him up...

If you don't support Launcher X, you can go find another launcher to use. It doesn't justify your decision to use warez. There are plenty of other choices out there.

Maybe support isn't what is should be, but your issues are pathetic!

Actually, I really like LauncherX. I like it much more than any other launcher I've tried. I have no reason to change because it does everything I want and fulfills all of my needs. All I was saying was, if you like the launcher, but the guy doesn't offer support (and you somehow lost your reg key), then find a different means to get it back up and running.

If you like it and use it then register it.

I've never had a problem with LauncherX support. How can they build all of the features that users want if they have to constantly send out lost reg keys to users? Pay for what you use, and then they might be able to hire someone just to manage reg keys for those who lose them like all those who have written above.

Listen Jerky, I'm not whining, I just want what I paid for.  I own 5 other launchers and would never use LaucherX again, I just want my reg code.  I use SpashID but didn't have a chance to add the reg code to it.

I think you're a little jealous of us, Clie owners that is, too bad you can't do half the stuff we can do on our pda's.  I think your a whiner, Mr. unregistered Jerky boy.

This is a suggestion, but could we find a place between these two 'boundary viewpoints' to carry this discussion forward? I know that the LX support/lack of support is a big issue. I hope that it changes...soon! But, I would like to be able to discuss it without too much 'excessive' emotion. Now don't get me wrong, I really like jerky, although I'm speaking of the type that has some genetic similarity to meat products. BTW, a little known secondary use for jerky is to replace your broken belt in a pinch. I think I saw that in a Martha Stewart book...Hey, has anyone ever tried buffalo (I know, american bison) jerky?

Oh, and back to the topic...I am an LX user, and I have Lubak's HandEra 330 skin which is wonderful (please don't belittle me for not having a Clie`, I really like my HE330) and I haven't had any problems with LX. So I really do like it. I am sure that would change if I were having problems and the developer wasn't helping. Maybe soon something will happen to get the LX ball rolling again. Maybe not. We will see. Anyway, have a good day, and for those of you in the northern hemisphere, SPRING IS COMING!
