I finally got my T3 with digitizer issue fixed and im having trouble transferring contact information from one hotsync name onto another. I don't have another palm so I can't beam it over and the old "Address" file doesn't work since the T3 uses it's own "contacts" type file for storing Addresses.

SO my dilemma is that I have a bunch of contacts in another hotsync user name that I want to transfer onto this PDA. Is there any way to do this short of recopying everything one at a time?!?!?

Do you use Outlook or do you sync to Palm Desktop? If you use Outlook, then export them from the one to the other. You may be able to do the same in Palm Desktop, but I'm not sure.

Hey crh3f! Good to see you around!

yOyOYoo - how come you changed user names? Since many software registrations are tied to your user name, you may want to hard reset and use the old name instead.

I believe that you can still just replace (after backing them up) the databases on the PC, then change the conduits to Desktop overwrites handheld. I don't sync Outlook with my T3, and it works just fine with the Palm Desktop.

However, Vidge is right about the user name and registrations. Consider carefully before making the change.

how to transfer Datebook data from another username

i tried searching for the solution in this forum but can't find it.

my hotsync problem is that everything syncs except Datebook in my Palm m500. my only backup for Datebook is in my iBook since i've had problems too backing up to the SD card.
when i got my T/3, tried to install the desktop software hoping that syncing will transfer the Datebook from the m500 to the T/3.

anyway, i hope there's a way to import or export only the Datebook to a new hotsync user i made. i reinstalled Palm Desktop 4.2.1 & used the same user name as the old one, with Backup folder of old user data renamed in home directory. i tried exporting from the old backup folder to the new one but the beach ball spinning comes out everytime i do this. right now, i can hotsync all other apps. all i need is to get the Datebook file from the old backup folder so i just have one updated folder.

hope someone can help me out. thanks in advance!
