I got my wireless connected but could not pick up email because I did not have the SMTP port number. Has anyone connected with earthlink and if so what port numbers are you using and are you using omnisky? Also if I use the address @onmisky is this the correct spelling?

I just got Clie and BT module and have used earthlink to send and recieve email usign Clie Mail.
I had been suing mail.earthlink.net for my SMTP.
The only probelm I have had is that although I can recieve email with attachments I can not send them. It seems to lock up the Clie and I lose the connection. Hmm, maybe I'm using the wrong smtp and that is the probelm? I doubt that is causing it.
Have you sent attachment using Clie Mail. I was thinking of looking at other apps. I like clie mail.
The only other issue is when someone is sending me an email with long attachment. I would love to be able to download all the emails without attachments and then go in for the attachment if I feel I want it. I have a few workarounds for this but was hoping some mail app had it built in.

Having the wrong SMTP would definitely prevent you from sending email. Although the format is the same, the names are different.

Try pop.earthlink.net
Check http://support.earthlink.net for all details.
Good Luck

Your problem might be something that I have myself experienced while trying to send outgoing mail through my isp's smtp server while connected to the net using a different ISP. No can do! It's been explained to me that it is an antispam "feature" that prevents folks connected through a different isp from sending mail through the smtp server. That is why I use Verizon, as it is the only wireless ISP that I am aware of that gives you an smtp address to use while connected using Verizon as your ISP.
This might be your issue too.

sralmas, thanks for that info. Although I am using Earthlink (not really using Cingular for anything other than a phone line) I have been trying to send from my domain email rather than my earththlink.net email. I'll try that and see if I have any luck.
By the way for me mail.earthlink.net works to send out email (w/o attachments) and smtp.earthlink.net does not.
I tried out snapper mail. Looks great, I really love the feach features so I don't have to worry about emails with big attachments. It did however have the same sending attachment problelm as I had with Clie mail. I'll try as sralmas sugested and use the email that goes with that isp. There is also in snapper mail an optional location for username and password under the smtp setting.

Well sending it from the isp provided email did not change the probelm.
The other thing that I thought may be the probelm is that as I am using the memory stick slot for bluetooth my attached files are local to the Clie. Looks like this may be a probelm with some email apps but snapper says it supports this.

Just curious but how are you connecting to the Internet via Verizon? Are you hooking your PDA to a cell phone via cable/bluetooth? Or, do you have a WiFi card? The reason I ask is I have Verizon as a wireless provider and am looking at adding a WiFi card to my NX60.
