if you look at clie from far away, the c and the l kidn fo merge together, so it actulaly says DIE!

I just don't like its real pronounciation (sp). It would be easier if it sounded like "clee" or "clee ah".

The "I" sounds like a long E and the "E" sounds like a long A - I think I said that right.

Clie (cleea) is also just such a cool name in my opinion ;-)

I've wondered what if Sony never named their handhelds Clie, but Vaio something? They could've been called the Vaio-M (for mobile) series, but I think Sony will save that name for their PPC series (you know, 640*480 screen, 666MHz XScale processor, WinCE.NET 5.0, MS and a "WiFi" slot).
As for other product name suggestions, I have a few of my own;
Vaio-M (as mentioned above)
MEILO (Mobile Enterta-Inment Linked Organizer)
Venca (pronounced like Veen-Za)
Liec (Linked, Information, Entertainment Console - pronounced like Leez)
POS Series (Palm OS) ;-)
