Hotsync Runtime error

Help, after nearly 4 months of blissful TH55 operation, tonight I turned on my laptop after getting home from a business road trip, and while booting, I get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error message box, saying:

Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\HOTSYNC.EXE
abnormal program termination

So, I de-installed the Palm desktop program files, then re-installed everything, and the same thing happened!

I'm at a loss on this situation. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I'm having the same issue with my TJ37 and SJ33, how'd you fix it?
(Visual C++ Runtime Library - ....sony handheld.... abnormal program termination)
