Ok, now this is bothering me.... I started with a dead battery from Sony (as in my 3rd unit wouldn't turn on). Charged it for 19 hours.  Checked and I was at two cycles.  Now, a hour later, it says 3!  Its been OFF the charger (as in no ac plug in it) since I took it off.  Where the heck did the extra cycle come from?

Think hard when you check your cycles?  Becuase if this unit is going flacky on me, I'm gonna go nuts!

maybe it just didn't have time to realize that it had been charged for 3 cycles.

I've noticed mine is sometimes slow to add the cycle. It may be a smart battery, but it isn't a fast battery :D.

maybe they call it the smart battery because it knows how to play tricks

maybe it takes the short bus, I haven't seen it getting on, but I always sit in the front.

Haha. But I did make sure it wa sseted well. I wanted everything to go right this time around. Weird. I wish I knew why it did that.
