Has anybody used the TH55 in conjunction with the KB100 and then using the BC10 battery pack to charge the entire unit? Would/could it work?

TIA,
Leo

yes probibly, the keyboard has a place for a charger to charge the TH55

How to describe it? The cable for charging terminates at a clie charge adapter. Take the charger adapter off the end and this end plugs into the KB100 keyboard. Exactly like the charger in laptops. Plug the other end into the wall AC and your 'laptopping' it.

Sweet.

I have a KB100 on the way, and I just happen to have an extra AC10 pack too!

Getting back to LeoB's original question, I too would like to find a cable to use external batteries to power the TH-55 while plugged into a KB-100. In my situation, I have a 3rd party external battery that has a separate cord from it's battery case. (p/n PST2B, at http://pc-mobile.net/clie.htm). In a perfect world I'd have a short cable where one end looks like the AC-10's, and the other plugs into my battery pack. A similar, abet slightly more clumsy, method would be where the battery pack end replicates the connector on the TH-55, alowing me to daisy-chain the two cables.

Since Sony's reducing the price on AC-10's, I'm tempted to get one, cut the cable, and locate a fitting to plug into my current battery pack. If anyone has a source that will do this, I'd love to hear about it.

I guess the only way to go is to get an extra AC-10 charger and a BC10 battery pack, cut the cords, and splice them together. Unless they wires are color coded exactly, probably need to do some testing to find out which one is hot and which is not -- don't know if the TH55 can take reverse polarity power.

I checked with Brando in Hong Kong, and he said that they had no intention of doing anything like this. Probably because the Sony market is going away.

LeoB,

After reading your comments, I made my own cable. Here's where I describe it.

Thanks for inspiring me to do it myself.

Really neat. But, since I haven't soldered anything in 20 years -- this will be a "challenge," as they say.

Looks like a good project when I get back from this trip in September.

Thanks!
