OK, I guess that Gauntlet has been thrown down, as it were, unless I'm missing something, which has happened several times in my life.
So here's my two cents.
I am SOOOOOO sick of the whole Launcher thing. I got sucked into it for several years, but with the advent of VFS and the native Launcher that comes with my NX, I have no need for the waste, confusion, perpetual puttzing with and such that I have gone to the other side.
I have tried all of the latest Launchers and own several of them and they all reside on my computer's hard drive and are going to stay there. I am sick and tired of making my life more complicated and wasting time that could be used to make my life better and more abundent (and here I sit, postimg to a thread about something that I have given up, YIKES!!!!) that I am likely to never return to the unending Launcher Void.
Farewell, God Bless and for your own good, don't waste your time with this or any other post about Launchers and their evil decadence and waste. LOL
My launcher is the best:p

Think your special? I have a CF brain modem that wireless connects to my brain to recieve thoughts. I now control my NX by just thinking. definitely beats typing!

Why would this be called the war room? Isn't it for people to just post about their launchers and which ones they like best? It would never reach a "war" state, would it?

So far so good, except for the fact that sony keeps coming out with new versions so I have to keep going under the knife. I would have gotten to BT but my NX doesn't have that capability.

It just seems that every time the term "Launcher" has been brought up. It seems to bring up heated arguments about who's is best. Well here you go, providing that everyone can keep it semi-undercontrol, I would like to incourage any one and everyone to take there best shots. Get it off there chest, so to speek. Put there money where there keyboards are. Feel free to tell us what makes your launcher better than others and why you think the others "suck". If this does not bring up some of the best discussion about launchers, it will make for very intertaining reading. Every one in the past has tried to suppress such things by saying " It is just personal preferences. " and " Try them and make up your own mind". I say to realy find out some interesting info about some of these launchers lets bring out those personal preferences good and bad, and voice them here.

I look at it this way. There really isn't a bee's fart worth of difference between most of the launchers. They basically all do the same thing. It's like arguing about which golf clubs are better. What works for Tiger may not work for Arnold. Different strokes for different folks.
That being said, my launcher can beat up your launcher!!

My earlier post was dripping with sarcasm, but it doesn't always come across well on the internet.
My favorite launcher is LX. I like it for a few reasons:
a) I've used LIII for a few years, so I'm used to the feel.
b) It has color, high-res+, and tab support, which are my must-haves.
c) It's fast, makes good use of gadgets, and offers a lot of flexibility.
d) You can have tab-specific settings. I like the background and foreground of each tab to be different from other tabs to visually set them apart, plus the ability to change icon size and number of columns for each tab.
So, today, I like it best. I also registered ZL, and I think it's very close to LX. The extras that ZL has don't appeal to me (e.g, backgrounds), and it doesn't have tab-specific settings yet, nor does it handle gadgets as well as LX IMO. That said, I am not very confident that LX will ever be updated, and we all know that ZL will probably have many updates, so if it ever passes LX in my mind, I'll switch over to ZL.

You guys can go ahead and use your brain-wave driven launchers, but that is so... menial. Yuck. YOU have to do all the work.
I have tweaked my T-665 so it has a psychic interface and figures out what I need before I ask. The cool thing is the holographic display that comes with the package.
Unfortunately, it is a little drain on the batteries. I used it once, and it sucked up all the power my batteries had, and will have for the next 4 months into the future. Curse these psychic interfaces!
Oh, geeze! Now it is answering questions I won't even have for another year- and it is trying to find enough power to do this!
Ohmigawd... it has hacked its way into the power grid! It is going to drain it dr

madkins007-
what you need is the psychic interface for the NZ90, it works into the past as well as the future and you can buy extra batteries for it (or if it is working right you already have bought the batteries).

Yeah, Yishow gets my vote. I really like the 'explorer style' navigation of the MS, and the skins rock, and I think it's pretty intuitive, most people say it's hard to use though, but if you look through the menu options, it's not difficult to figure out.
customizability and ease of use if what makes Yishow the best (yes better than YOUR launcher :D)

I dunno man, it came pretty close last summer, there was all kinds of launcher bashing and arguing, before you know it, people will get locked out of their accounts, and the perpetrators will start posting for their launchers with the accounts they steal, and it'll be madness! They'll start a poll and vote with a bunch of accounts they stole!
haha, that would be funny.....

ZLauncher's the best! Neener neener neeeeeeeener! :)
Seriously, I switched from LX to ZL due to the complete lack of support for LauncherX. I swear I've never seen customer support better than ZZTechs'.....
Other than that, Zlauncher and YiShow were pretty much tied as far as features and "coolness".

Because...don't you want to see all the bells and whistles go off on your PDA? My launcher resembles a level out of that game, The Incredible Machine. It takes 15 minutes to enter something into my To-Do list!

Default Launcher is the best!
You cant't beat the Price and there is no eye candy that you don't need

default launcher: its hard to beam stuff, delete stuff, organize, categorize
3rd party launchers just make it much more intuitive and easy to use
For instance, default launcher, when you click jog dial in, it switches folders (Main, Office, Games, etc) one at a time. On Yishow, when you click jog dial, it'll bring up a menu of selections, where you can then scroll to the folder you want to bring up, then use jog dial to select the application you want to run.
I use yishow because it just seems much more efficient. Its got nice eye candy too.
If the default launchers could do what I needed them to do (organize memory stick files, categorize by drag and drop, rename applications) then I would use the default launcher.
For now, I'm pretty happy with Yishow.

You can use drag and drop to catagorize files on the built in launcher (it is just not as intuitive), and to beam and delete. clicking the info button will let you rename any app and change the description. true about the memory stick though. i use shorcutz and then just dont display the stick. works fine for me but i can understand it is not for everyone.
