how to convert from .wmv to qt or mpeg?

hi, i want to convert some of my .wmv video files onto my palm but image converter won't accept .wmv files. do you know any free programs that can convert from .wmv to mpeg or quick time so i can use image converter and convert that onto my th55? thanks
