So, my TH/E just arrived this morning! I've been playing with it for approx. 2 hrs, and here are my first impressions:

1) WOW!
2) It looks, feels, and is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC
3) The screen is HUGE compared to the UX!
4) TheGoGo is a MUST! I hate the location of the Power switch.
5) I don't know how i'll ever keep the screen PROTECTOR clean (the screen itself will be fine, but i'll have to clean the protector daily lol)
6) I'll post pics of it compared to a UX in a few minutes.

Hi iam considering buying one as well but have been a bit scared about some of the things ive heard. Have you tried browsing with it, does it seem slow for that ??

Best wishes

>Have you tried browsing with it, does it seem slow for that

if u turn on Power Saving then it's a bit slower than normal (but i'd say still way faster than a 56k modem). Without power saving it's as quick as ever! (Mind you, it does take a little longer than usual to load HUGE sites like Yahoo's home page etc... but for normal sites it's fine)

>Congrats! The screen size is why I didn't buy a UX, I'm starting to get that middle-age short-arm disease and the last thing I need is a smaller screen! I ordered a TH the week they came out and have yet to regret it. Enjoy!

Honestly, I really love it! I'm getting rather fond of CO as well :)

Congrats! Glad you like it. The first thing I did when I started to use mine was install The GoGo to move the power switch to where it should have been all along! It's much more comfy there. Have fun with it! :)

Yap, the power switch is for lefty, but the back button is for righty. I'm lefty so I have no complain with the power switch. My right pinky finger tip falls naturally on the slider. I assign the ZLauncher QuickLaunch Anywhere (QLA) on the CAPTURE button where I can turn the power on and launch QLA at once. QLA & jogdial on the back makes really cool one-handed manuevering.

Use a program like ScreenShot to take the pics then...

Find it at : http://www.linkesoft.com/

I use it for all mine.

Get HRCaptDA (http://www.launchplug.com/HRCaptDA.html) if you need a screenshot program. It does its job very well plus itīs free.

When the UX came out, I was so tempted to chuck out my Tungsten C. But wisely, I managed to keep my urge to splurge (but not for long - I upgraded my iPod to 3G). When the TH55 came out, I resisted for a while, but I kept going back to it.
Finally, retired my Tungsten C, bit the bullet and bought it and I must say it is the best PDA since Palm V.

What a shame this is Sony's swansong.

Congrats and nice comparison shots as well.

I had forgotten how small the UX creen really is!

I'm loving my TH as well.

Just waitin on my vaja, but while doing so I sort of got use to the clear cover (Don't like the cover in landscape mode though).

[QUOTE=davemohan]Since I installed the Sony Wireless Update for TH55, browsing speed is as good as any PDA I've seen, even in Powersave mode .

Do you know if the european versions also need the wireless update as it is only offered for the US models? You can not download the update from the european Sony sites.

I actually have both the TH55 and UX50. While the screen size and battery life are better on the TH55, I still prefer to use the UX50. With the extended battery in tow, battery life is not an issue. I just couldn't give up the keyboard and landscape.

Both units are great though. My wife uses the TH55 primarily for games. She has a Tungsten W through work that she has to use, though she would love to replace it with the TH55.

As a sidenote...We were both sitting in a hospital waiting room last Friday for several hours, CLIEs in hand. I decided to scan for a WiFi hotspot and suprise, I found a public access. I showed my wife and within minutes, we were both surfing the net. There were several curious people staring while we discussed newsites, etc.

Times like these makes me very sad Sony is dropping the US CLIE distribution.

I love my TH-55. People are always curious when you surf the net with it ;)

Yup.. its sad that Sony is pulling out from the Palm market :(
