ebay alwyas has got some in stock ;-)

I just searched all of eBay and found not one.

There was one seller, but he was selling the EB40 with an UX50 attached so that doesn't really count.

If I was as rich as Bill Gates, I'll buy 4 cradles: 1 in bedroom, 1 in computer room, 1 downstairs in family room, 1 in backpack; 4 extended battery, never worry about having no battery or charger during a trip. ^O^ I got long wish list so I dont even want to continue.

you can find them at C-net shopper, showed me where 101.00$ and thats with shipping, even more interest I found the actual internal battery for 29 buck and wondered, if we cant gt the PDA soon, maybe an extra internal brand-new battery laying around would be nice.

Hi all. I checked most vendors & they were either on backorder or the site looked fishy to have this battery at such a high stock with pricing around $99. Anyway, I purchase mine here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48668&item=5706269744&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V) @ Ebay.

The total cost was about $125. The seller has good ratings as well...

Mr. Blue
07-01-2004, 11:16 AM
I gotta say that even while I dropped $125 (shipping included) @ Ebay, members here were able to purchase this battery for about $100 w/ shipping included just about two weeks ago. Some of these very vendors that offered that great price (now on backorder) informed me that they're "awaiting for more shipments from Sony." I then replied via telephone that Sony has ceased production of these babies. Well, they were like "YMMV..." Dang this item's going on the Hard-to-Find list fast...

I don't know how he calculates his inventory but it seems odd that his supply would dwindle from 100 (which is what it was when I ordered as well) to 0. Oh well, I guess it was optimistic to think it would be that easy to get a hold of one of these batteries. I've been looking everywhere and am getting desperate. I noticed there is one used EB40 on the ebay auction site going for almost $150 plus shipping.

I ordered an EB40 from CDW last Friday, their website said it would be 1-2 weeks for delivery. Found out today that they shipped it on Monday for delivery tomorrow. I use my UX for work, so I had our purchasing department order me one. Don't know how many more they have, may be worth a call. I think it was $108.

Well, as I was literally browsing this forum, the mailman rings my doorbell and hands me my new EB40 from Brando 30 seconds ago. On their website it states 12 days to arrive. I got it in 6 (not 6 business, just 6). Not bad. $123 shipped.

I already have one with my UX-50, I bought two of them just in case but is sounds like a short supply out there and it is not getting better. I heard from Sony that about 100 reselers have back orders but they are not shipping them or full filling any of them.

Do anybody want one I have one for sale Brand New in the packaging for $125.00 USD + 5.00 for shipping in the USA only. There is an EB40 for auction on Ebay. I don't have the URL in front of me, I saw it last night at home, and my work blocks eBay. But if you do a search for Clie EB40 you will find it.

:D

Jezlyn
07-21-2004, 06:18 PM
Yeah, I saw that the other day. However, the auction has 3 days left and it's already at $152+. Brando is a better way to go, assuming that I ordered in time and it's not on backorder there, too.

Jezlyn
07-22-2004, 11:24 AM
I noticed that the total for my order from Brando has already been charged to my credit card, yet the order status site says it's still "under processing". Is this normal? Usually companies charge your card when the order has shipped. I know Brando is a fairly reliable vendor; I just want to make sure that this is how orders are usually processed.

I will not order from him (I had a bad experience). It's just too risky for me.

Certainly, there must be other merchants worldwide who are willing to ship internationally? The question is- how do we find them?

Certainly, there must be other merchants worldwide who are willing to ship internationally? The question is- how do we find them?

Bad experience? Could you say something more?

I searched other webs, everywhere is out of stock. Clieuk.co.uk wrote me few weeks ago they will contact me as soon as they will have it but till now no contact from them.

Sure- I talked about it more in this thread (end of page 1):

Basically, my order was cancelled out of the blue, because I wouldn't fax a great deal of personal information to him. I still haven't received the refund and I am starting to get worried.

I'm not negating your experience vivarey, but I have heard nothing but good things about Brando (excluding your experience of course).

Well, I can't understand why you don't want to fax them your personal information. Maybe it is necessary for some countries or maybe details you provided with credit-card are not correct and they want to check.

It is your fault that you don't want to finalize this transaction. I am sure they will refund your credit card. I also heard only good cooments about Brando.

Again, I'm not saying he's running a fradulent business. I'm just telling people what happened to me. I read good reviews too, which is why I went with him in the first place. My experience was probably a rare one.

And anyone who blindly agrees to transmit personal information to an unknown location is either clueless about theft identity, or doesn't care. I was willing to work with him to provide verification, as I told him via email, but as soon as I mentioned that I was hesitant to fax my ID and CC -- the order was cancelled.

I'll report back when I'm refunded, so I won't scare people away.

Looks like this was your first Credit Card payment over internet? Well, this is normal procedure. I was asked many times to provide copy of ID or CC.

That's a great offer. There's a guy selling 10 on e-bay right now and the "buy it now" price is almost $400.00 and people are buying them!

I've thought about strating a thread to see how many people want them ans seeing if Brando would do some sort of bulk discount.

I was thinking the same thing, but I don't know if it'll work. I mean, he is selling them like crazy also. I don't think he would reduce the price if he's still getting the business. Now, I am willing to order it for whoever is skeptical to get it from him, and I will send it to whoever wants it for the same price.

I've been looking at it on eBay and I'm seeing people bidding on $300-$400 EB40s. I don't know if its fake (I used to have my friends bid on my items to raise the bids) or not.

I'm interested in buying batteries... PoNeH check your PM.

I would also go in on a group buy.

There's no way I'd buy from eBay at this point. I smell scam.

LOL, why ? Are you 15year old kid or mature guy? And check some procedures using Credit Card as a payment method, then you will surely avoid such missunderstandings with your transaction. This is nothing strange that company requested ID and copy of CC.

I just saw this post on PDA Street Forums:
http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=48466

I don't know how you'd get the Taiwan website, but I did notice that the UK Brando website still has the EB40 for $120 also.

you can still order them from authorized sony parts resellers.
made a call into one a few days back, cant remember the exact figure, but it was around $200 cad.

luckily i was the winning bidder on one on ebay for $81 cad!
hope it comes in good condition and can hold a good charge.

So it was you! I was bidding against you but couldn't wait up for the end of the auction - that would have finished about 4am here in the UK. GRRRRR. Got yourself a bargain mate ;)
