does anyone of u have any problem using bluetooth of NZ90/g to connect to nokia phone?
I'm using nokia 6230, and trying to connect to it using bluetooth always ends in error. I have downloaded the phone driver from the clie website...
But with T610, it works fine..... I wonder sony makes things easy for products within it's company...;(

I have similiar problem using my TH55 with Nokia 6230. I've tried all the settings and combinations but got no luck. However, it seems working fine with Sony Ericsson. It seems SONY doesn't plan to launch any update driver..... sounds bad....

Well, as they say... Love your own.
There's a generic GSM phone setting that comes with the driver. I used it before buying a Sony Ericsson phone. It kinda works but it always asks for confirmation before it does anything. My Clie was definetly the biggest consideration when I had to upgrade my phone.
Good luck!

Palm at eurotechsupport.ee@palmone.com says they are not gone make a driver for the 6230.
"We would like to inform you that a phone driver for the Nokia 6230 has not been developed yet by palmOne due to the low number of requests received."
Lets make them crazy ans all ask for this driver!!

Check out a program called Connection Manager (COMA), it's very good for setting up connections between the NZ90 and Nokia phones. (may be off topic because you still probably need a driver.. I believe the generic GSM driver worked with my 6310i, it's been a while tho so perhaps not.

I have a TH55 (North American model - no bluetooth :( ) that I've set up to work with my Nokia 3650 via infrared. I struggled with the connection for weeks before finally breaking down and buying CoMa. CoMa will supply generic IrDA and bluetooth scripts for many phone/provider/pda combinations. For the most part I have nothing but good things to say about CoMa. The only problem I ran into was an issue in the script CoMa supplied for Rogers GPRS. I had to change the dial-in number from *0099# to *99# or something like that. I also had to configure my Snappermail program to use the Rogers servers, but that was simply a call to the right tech level support of rogers to get the server names. Netfront worked fine after using CoMa.
All this to say, go CoMa.
A little confused though - I didn't need a specific driver to connect to the phone, and wouldn't have even if I did have bluetooth. In fact, my friend, who has a tungstend T3, can connect to my phone and surf/do email without any special drivers. I thought any bluetooth device could connect to and communicate with any bluetooth device. Does the NZ require drivers for bluetooth phones? Or do newer PDAs come with the correct drivers pre-installed?

Hi, I do successfully connect into internet with my Nokia 8250 to my NZ90 via red- and connect my Erission TI 83mc via bluetooth. Oh yes, I did not download any update for phone driver. Anyway, its really cost $ to dial up on mobile : (

in that file you find all kinds of cellphone drivers: I do not know if your Nokia is among them but you might want to try it with a similar driver, I do know the 6210/ 6250 and the 6290 are supported...
cheers Nicolas
PS: neglect the files which are no drivers, they are for Palms only
If you want to surf the internet or check your email NO drivers are needed for any cell phone. Just do a pairing between the two! Even though I must admit that some cells have problems recognizing your device!
If you want to use the SMS application which checks internal details of you cell, like carrier, sms messages, sim card etc. you NEED a driver!
That is it!
cheers Nicolas
BTW: I believe that funSMS does not need a driver either...
My 6310i has been detected via the clie, but nokia asks for the password of the PALM, the passcode, anybody knows what is the default passcode of it?
just notice, that I cant leave it empty, because when no code added in the nokia, the OK button becomes disabled.
If u know how I change it, u`d be doing me a fav.
Please respond to Kem0 at msn dot com

You have not completed the "pairing" of the two devices. This is a security feature that no other identical cell phone (if you sit in a coffeeshop) can access your NZ.
During the pairing process you must fill in any number, press ok and press the same number on the NZ. Then they are paired... That is all!
Hope that helps!
cheers Nicolas :)
I'm also struggeling with the 6230 - TH55 combination. although you don't need a driver to use the BT connection in order to mail in surf the web the combination works pretty lousy. I've never seen a phone with BT implemented as bad as with the Nokia 6230  I't plain rubbish
For example. Set up the pairing. This goes fine. Now you can mail and surf. Try SMS...or another app that can SMS. You will notice these apps don't work because of the missing driver. After closing down these apps you can't mail or surf anymore (BT won't connect) unless you do the setup all over again. The 6230 crashed 3 times in 5 days by using BT, lost connection while fetching mail and so on.
But...My TH55 works absolutely fine - almost flawless - when using a Nokia 6310i!!!!

I have an NZ90 and a Nokia 3650 This is what my phone service provider
(T-mobile) instructed me to do to get the two devices to speak to each other. I go on line daily with my NZ90.
1) Go to preferences > Bluetooth
Pair the devices via BT, settings as follows
Blue tooth = enabled
Device Name = (any name)
Allow to be discovered = yes
Allow wake up = no
Click trusted devices then click add device
Make sure BT is enabled on your phone as well
Note, you may be asked to key in an authorization code, just enter 1 in each device.
2) Go to preferences > connections > new
Name your connection (tmonet for example)
Connect to: modem
Via: Bluetooth
Device: tap to discover (your phone should be recognized) click OK
Go back to connect to: and change modem to PC
3) Go to preferences > network
Service = your connection name (tmonet)
User name = a
Password = a
Connection = your connection name (tmonet)
Click details
Connection type = PPP
Idle timeout = Never
Query DSN = checked
IP address automatic is checked
Click Script
Now you have to enter in the initialization string for your phone and carrier service. Mine is;
Send: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet2.voicestream.com" (this address is for t-mobile only AT+T and others are different)
Send CR: leave blank
Send: atd*99# (this is the number your phone dials to access GPRS)
Send CR: leave blank
End:
This is the setup t-mobile told me to use. It doesn’t use any drivers. The best way to describe it is it sets you up like you’re on a LAN with a proxy connection.
Good luck

Hey,
I followed your instructions, but in step 3, when you go back to Network, the new "service" isn't listed, I made 2, one called Blue, other called Bluetooth. Neither of them are an option within the "service" selection. Just the standard preinstalled Services... got any ideas?
Thanks!
updated: Oh, you mean the Service should be Windows RAS, and within there should be Connection: (name)
