Hi,

About to take the plunge and get an NZ....

Big dilemma is whether to buy at retail price locally ($797 + 8.25% sales tax) or buy online at discount ($684 + $12 shipping) and save about $160.

Obviously, if I buy locally I can bring back if needed. If buy online probably not so easy...

Any thoughts???

Thanks,

Mark

Everone likes to save money, after all we will be able to purchase new memory sticks very soon now... but there are some things that I just have to purchase at a brick store... because if something goes wrong I want to walk it in and not wait for even over night express... my opinion...

Wow, $160 is a good chunk of change to save. I always prefer to buy locally if for no other reason you can usually see it before you buy, and try it out. Also if there are any after sale problems you can deal with a person in their store as opposed to phone calls (which may or may not be returned, or emails which may or may not be answered). If you go the online route, be sure to check out the company you are buying it from by going to Resellerratings www.resellerratings.com (http://www.resellerratings.com/) . Here you can look up over 3700 companies that do online business, and see what their previous customers have to say about how transaction went. I have seen some real horror stories about the business practices of some of these online companies, and how they try to screw over consumers.

Thanks ric7254!

You guys are confirming my gut feelings that it's probably better to bite the bullet and spend a bit more to buy locally...although it's really tempting to save a $160....
