View Full Version : How to run App's from Memory Stick???
:o Greetings ~!
I just bought SJ33 & Lexar 128 memory stick... (My Lexar seems to be a good one) I can happily transfer mp3's, pictures, even database of some apps (Bible reader), but I can't start application from the memory stick...
Does anybody know how I can store applications (Sony's or 3rd party's) on a memory stick & start the app from the stick???
Many thanks,
GBDC

powerrun is the best app for running stuff from ms. search the boards before asking next time.
You can use an included app (MSGate) to move apps. to /Palm/Launcher file. You get to that file by opening MSGate and going to MS. In the line at top that start with (folder)Palm, tap the folder until you see a list below that includes "Launcher", then tap on Launcher. You then install apps. on the MS by using MSExport/Import included app., or you can transfer apps. from your pda RAM by going back to Internal in MSGate and using the Move option.
Then, when you have the apps. installed in the MS Launcher, go back to your menu on the pda, pull down category menu (upper right corner of screen), find MS and tap. You'll open the MS Launcher file and you can tap the app. that you want to run.

I always directly hotsync my large data files to the MS and leave the small prc on the internal memory and don't have any problems.
Thanks RNClie & Lee,
I can launch apps fine without powerrun (spelling?) like Lee suggested... I mostly store pictures, movies, DB's on my MS like RNClie suggested, but NoahLite doesn't support MS. I can fortunately spare 2 meg space on my ram

Here's another good site that talks about using your external memory for applications and data:
