I am just beginning to understand how best to utilize my MS and have a question. For those of you have dozens of apps on your MS how do your organize them to find them easily. I am using Launcher Z. Do you create folders like the tabs for the internal memory?

I am not quite sure what you are referring to. I will try to another both questions and hopefully one of them is right.

Almost all apps must be in the palm/launcher folder on the MS in order to be recognized and runnable. Exceptions to this are apps moved to MS which such programs as powerrun

Zlauncher is my main launcher (although I am testing all major launchers currently for a comprehensive comparison). All tabs that I have created to sort icons for apps are a mix of apps on the MS and apps on RAM. I do not have apps in seperate categories/tabs for apps on MS and apps in RAM.

hope that helps

Okay i admit I feel stupid. I thought that apps on the MX had t= to be on the MS tab on the launcher. Just relized that the app can still be on the tab related to the app. (Games, etc)

Thanks for the quick reply.

If you are using LauncherX you can store your apps in any directory on your MS and they can still be organized even further via tabs. LauncherX is capable of doing this with the use of shortcuts. Shortcuts are small files created by some launchers in order to decieve your clie into thinking that the app associated with the shortcut is in ram. Apps stored on cards will sometimes lose some of their capabilities. Shortcuts retain the original function of the app ie the ability to hotsync etc. Some launchers require shortcuts in order to organize them into catagories or tabs if you are storing them on an MS. LauncherX to date is the most intuitive in respect to folder organization/tab organization.

I use MegaLauncher (ML). The apps in RAM and MS blend together in the same categories. ML puts a dot before the name of the icon for those apps that reside in MS.

ML does not use shortcuts. I heard LX shortcuts can crash BackupBuddy VFS. That is why I stay away from LX. Can anyone verify this?

When LauncherX or LauncherIII creates a shortcut, the two characters that it uses to rename the app does cause conflict with some backup apps.  If it does you simply have to manually rename your shortcut via an app like Filez.
