Hi all, I'm a new user here...

I'm considering purchasing a TJ37 from newegg.com (at $250, who wouldn't?) but am wondering if the accessories for hte SJ series are compatible. I have a SJ20, which i love, but has worn down completely after 3 years of intense use. I have a Sony carry case and Fellowes Stowaway keyboard for hte SJ20. Will these both work with the TJ37? or will i have to buy these accessories again? Also, i've read about many complaints about battery life... Is it really that bad with the 37??

All T series connector accessories work on the TJ37 (as well as the TJ27/TJ35/TJ25/SJ22/SJ30/SJ20) . Battery life on my TJ37 is not good at all. I compare it to the T615c I had a couple of years ago... loved that PDA but battery life was horrible.. now just multiply battery usage by adding wifi and you get a very short battery life... the 200mHz processor on the TJ37 runs full speed (which is good for most of the time) but bad when trying to maximize battery life. You say your SJ20 ran down after 3 years of use? It hasn't been around that long.... Sony's SJ series is only 1 1/2 to 2 yrs max.... the T series T665/T615 were new two 1/2 years ago.. and the SJ series replaced them.... (I'm anal about time frames! :(

You can use light speed on the 37 like me and squwwzw more battery life out, it works great for me.

I forgot to ask: I've heard and read about lightspeed. is it really that great for extending battery life, and how much does it sell for?

Doink...it's $20.00
It doubles and sometimes triples my battery life.
Search for Lightspeed, there are lots written about it here.

I just upgraded to a TJ37 two weeks ago from a T665. The T665 was a great machine, but even new the best I could get out of a charge was about 2 1/2 hours, longer with the brightness turned down.

I have not run the TJ37 down, but usually after about 2 hours of use the battery is at around 60%. I figure with brightness down abit I should get 5 hours out of a full charge. Thats not fabulous, but I'm not going to complain.

Incidently I love the TJ37. Speed, power, size - it'd be nice with the TH55's screen, but I prefer the speed to the sceen at this point. :)

Btw the way you guys, I have a carry case that i used with my SJ20. The product code was like PEGA-CA30 or something like that. I'm just wondering if that would fit the TJ37 model or not. No biggie if no one has a definite answer. But that would save me a bit of money as i will not need to buy a new case.

Thanks in advance,

It was mentioned that the t series accessories work with the TJ class models. Does anyone know if that includes the CLIÉ Audio Adapter PEGA-SA10. I too fell for the confusing mixed marketing materials of the TJ-27/TJ-37 but for the price they are selling the audio adapter on SonyStyle it might be worth getting (if it works of course). Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

The adapter will fit the TJ series connector but I don't believe it is OS5 compatible. The audio adapter was designed to be used with OS4 devices without the audio playback capabilities. The TJ37 has that ability built in. The TJ27 of course doesn't, but I am unsure if the adapter will work with an OS5 device...

The SJ20 is thicker and narrower than the TJ's. I doubt your case will fit a TJ.

The KB11 will work, however you need the think outside driver. I beleive that the bluetooth MS will not work unfortunately

I don't think the case will fit because they are completely different sizes.

Also if you have an old cradle with the SJ20, the TJ37 won't fit in it because of the shape of the bottom. The new cradles will fit both the TJ and SJ series PDAs

The sync/power adapter that came with the SJ series should work with the TJ series. I had a SJ22 prior and the adapter works fine. Now for the cradle, I would go with what the other guy said about fitting with the new one.
