I still can only take like 10 pictures a day w/o flash. My battery life sucks and i've drained it twice. Any suggestions? it really annoys me....

Do like what Starstreak has done .. return the set for a new one. Starstreak has returned his unit twice due to the battery problem. omgitsroy, yours should be mailed-in service, so how can you go about exchanging it ??

i think the main problem is that yer info-lithium is charging yer backup NiMh battery (can't spell)
i.e. for 4 hrs, only the info lithium battery is charged, not the back up battery

try charging yer NZ throughhhhhhhh the night while yer sleeping
u'll see tremendous improvement

i did leave it on throughout the night ..... icharge it til the orange color button goes off.. anyhow what i also noticed is that if i take a bunch of picture at once w/ the flash i am able to take a lot of pictures but if i take one say like a t 10 am then at 1am then at 2 am ... wake up and take at 12 pm .. etc etc.. i could only get like 10 pictures.. i'm really lost why this isn't consistant .... also in terms or returning it.. how would i go about returning w/o having to wait ... i bought this unit at circuit city...

If I'm not mistaken, Circuit City has changed their Return Policy. You can return it if you're not satisified (I think) and there's no longer a re-stocking fee like there use to be.

All I know is Circuit City's Return Policy is much better than CompUSA.

Consider yourself lucky you bought it from CCity.

Re: the battery problem, I too have experienced it.

My NZ-90 gives me Warning Messages after a few flash photos. Its been sitting in the charger all day. I'm gonna try a some extensive flash shots later tonight.

I'll be happy if I can get 100 shots in.

Let you know later.

k guys 3rd unit. I'm gonna leave it on the charger overnight. Amazingly Compusa hasn't thrown up a fuss with me being this is my 3rd unit. They can see how fast it kills over. The only thing it COULD be is this is all in the same batch as this store ordered over 20 units. And maybe they are all bad? I wish SOny would address this as its the norm that people can take around 30 shots if its at 100% battery, but can't take more than a few if below 75%.
I see a few people, myself included whos unit couldn't do more than 10 without killing over.

And a few that gets an unreal 10+ hours in actual use.

Note: while on the charger and orange light off, I checked and it has 2 cycles on it. (Box was sealed and battery was so drained that I couln't even turn on the unit.)

When I checked at that time, it shows 5:09hours of use. If anybody who is reading this has something greater than that, how do you have your settings? At 50% light? BT on?

Question: I wonder if Sony can make a higher capacity battery for this unit? I read that the new Tungston W or something is coming out with a 1500ma battery. I think thats what sony should have done. My Sony phone has a 700ma battery and thats connected all the time to a network (sortof) and it gets over 3 days of use easy.(I have BT on always)

Yesterday, after leaving my NZ90 charge overnight, I got a reading of over 7 1/2 hours remaining.

I think it helps by using the battery also.

OK, Starstreak you gotta do this man. I can't believe you've got that huge black cloud following you around, usually that's me. Anyway, I just rattled off 70 shots, 6 were w/out flash. I went from 98% to 86%.

I had 98% left, 6H50M. I shot 70 shots, just about as fast as it would let me shoot them, they are all 640x480, 6 of them were with out the flash. When taking them every few shots I'd get the "flash disabled, battery too low" warning, I shot one without the flash, waited for the battery to get above 40% then start again with the flash. Right now after just doing it I have 84%, 5h32m, left on it.

Let us know if you get something similar. I have 6 cycles.

I took it off the charger after I installed a few apps. Then played and set some preferences and BT. after doing that for about 10mins, power was at 97%

After 10 shots with flash, battery droped below 60% (which is normal) and when I got done, it went to 93% after 4 minutes resting. Does that seem normal?

I always shoot at 1600x1200 and in fine.
