has anyone noticed that PocketTunes drains battery much much more faster than AudioPlayer ?
I also think that audio quality is better with AudioPlayer.
But PocketTunes is faster (when a the jogdial is pressed, the answer is immediate)
The conclusion is : I still use AudioPlayer.
What about you ?
pocketTunes or AudioPlayer ?

I did a head-to-head comparison last night between PT and AP, as I have given up trying to get a better-looking skin on AP and liked the PT skins. The result (to my ears) was that AP was miles better on bass extension, detail and clarity. PT was deleted immediately!! Please please please can some clever person make a great-looking AP skin....

Well the skin is a minor factor compared to quality & battery life ...

I searched palmgear.com for skins but only found skins 320x320, are there skins 320x480 portrait anywhere? Also I haven't yet put AP in my TH55 but from what I can see in Palmgear.com the latest version only supports 320x320? is there another version that supports the TH55 screen?

I agree that AP sound much better, but at least PT will play VBR MP3 and I don't have to convert more that half of all my MP3's. Unless someone figure out a way to play VBR mp3's with AP.

One main advantage to PT is that it can play MP3 Pro which can save about 50% of the space needed by an MP3. I like the fact that with PT I can have 11 or 12 full albums on my 512Mb memory stick and not worry about changing them around so often. I do like the sound quality of the built-in audio player better though.

The Clié Audio Player (AP) uses the TH55's DSP, and also drops the HHE to its minimal speed, which is why it can play for so much longer.
Pocket Tunes (PT) uses the CPU at full burn which obviously kills the battery faster.
AP only does one thing: Play 44.1kHz CBR MP3s, but it does it very well.
PT is a lot more flexible (Any sample rate, VBR/CBR, OGG, streaming etc.), but doesn't do it as well. They will be able to tweak their decoding engine so the quality is better 'tho, but will never be able to match AP's battery life.
Then again AP will never be able to play VBR, OGG, streams etc. so it's a matter of choice: Both have pro's and con's.

Plus AP will NEVER play Shoutcast streams.... THREE CHEERS FOR POCKETTUNES!!!

Where i can find those MP3 PRO pc convert softwares ?
It would be very nice to save about 50% space from my memory card pro, because all my mp3 music files are usual files not mp3 pro files...

Clie Audio can not play MP3 Pro files. I don't know if Aeroplayer can or not but I'm sure somebody here will know.

As of this moment, Aeroplayer doesn't support mp3pro.
