Is there anyone out there who knows approximately when the newer Garmin PDAs' are coming out?
I really like the IQUE and I did lots of reshearch on all Palm OS type PDA's. No one beats the Garmin (except the battery life) TH-55 comes in close second, because of the camera and Wifi (and BT in european versions) other than that I much rather have a great GPS than a camera.
Any opinion ou there?
Cheers,
Ardy :)

Well, the last time I spoke with someone from Garmin, he said there should be two more iQue's coming out this year. No specs of cource but I'm also excited about it.

Funny thing is, usually there is a leak of some sorth on the net about the new coming products from big companies, but I searched and searched and there was zip info out there about the new Garmins.
But I can't wait either, I going fly fishing in Wyoming in 3 days from California wish I had it :(
Cheers,
Ardy :)

Yup, the iQue 3600 is really a nice device. No one can beat it's mapping features. Have you seen my review (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23945)?

Reagrding the new Garmins, yes someone did slip telling me that there are two coming out. I was taking with a Garmin rep during the PalmSource Devcon at San Jose.

In my opinion, the improvements that the ique desperately needs are:

1) Significantly better battery life.
2) SDIO support.
3) Wireless connectivity options (SDIO could solve this, but would be better built in).
4) Dual memory card slots, so you can use one for maps an the other for all your PDA apps.

In case anyone from Garmin watches such posts, BT would be good for us European users.

I've been a while now to get a new device and it may well be one of reputed new Garmins, with better battery life.

You know, I have a garmin legend...I love the thing. It has gotten me good grids on many an urgent moment. One thing I'd like to see is a ruggedized and waterproof pda/gps. With a removable battery.

Dual memory slots would be nice, but you have to remember there is a built-in flip-up antenna. Adding an extra memory slot would likely mean a bigger, bulkier PDA.

we have to alsao realize they have to leave some flaws for us to but later models. If they bring the perfect model it would be a great sale for them but where would they go from there?

Halesy,
Usually the Q3 (fall) of every year is when the PDA/phone makers start to compete with one another and new product hit the shelfs.
So, a 2-3 month wait and we'll be in candy stores all over again.

I was just doing some searching on the West Marine web site and found references to an iQue 3500 when mentioning the 3600. I don't know any details so take it for what it is worth.

We North American users would like bluetooth too.

mrFlark,
The 3500 is exactly like the 3600 minus the MP3 and voice recorder.

Hmmm. I just ordered an iQue 3600 from Amazon. The more I read, the more insecure I become. The price wasn't bad but the battery life seems to be an issue. Anyone have more info on the battery problem or if I should cancel my order and wait for the 3200 or, or, or.... ?

tat model is identical to the 3600 except it lacks the mp3 player and voice recorder.

Thanks. I wondered as the Garmin website http://www.garmin.com/products/iQue3200/ noted "The iQue 3200 is designed for business users who want an affordable device that can manage their personal information and deliver personal navigation in a single unit. Beyond organization and navigation, the iQue 3200 boasts a bright display, long battery life, and Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) capabilities for added functionality—at an attractive price. " So I thought the 3200 had a better battery life.
