I'm a little unclear as to the Magicgate memory sticks. Are they compatible on the NR? Are we restricted to copying ATRAC music files to it, or does it do mp3? What other difference are there? If someone could clear this up it would be much appreciated.

Can't use on NR, NX, or NZ currently, and Sony is ONLY releasing a software patch for the NX and NZ, not the NR. We're outdated and out in the cold.
Jokes on Sony though because they're still NOT going to get me to upgrade.

I won't upgrade either. The loss of usable ram and hacks (plus size) are going to keep me with the NR for some time.

well i just got my NR, so i'm obviously not gonna drop it anytime soon. Besides, it's been great to me, awesome for takin notes in class and such; i'm very pleased. I just wish it had WiFi support.

Actually, back on topic, I held off on buying another 128 ms because i thought other sizes would become available in the future. I think I heard something about a "double-sided" memory stick? Will there be any sort of memory upgrade for us lowly NR users?

Yeah, there's a new MS coming out called Memory Stick Select...it's a double sided 128x2 stick. We'll have to switch between sides with a little toggle switch. Best they can do for us. :(

Gonna cost $160. I might not buy into their scam and just get another stick...it don't know that it would take any longer to switch sticks out than it would to flip that silly little switch. Plus, let's say I buy another 128 stick...I'll have spent a total of $160, instead of the one I've got PLUS $160 for the MS Select, for a total of $240...
