i just read about those apps and never used one of them but it seems, that they are quite useful cause my NX70 RAM is always quite full and i always have to delete something to try something new. especially documents to go needs lots of space with tis several programs but i do not daily use it. if i could them start from memory extensions like CFcard i would have more space to surf the web with NetFront.

which of those programs you would prefer and why? would be great if someone has experience in more than one of those tools...

I use both ZLauncher and MSMount. ZLauncher is great for running applications from the SD card (or MS), and it does several other things as well of course. However, it gets slow when large databases are involved as the entire database is first loaded into RAM. After using the database, it is again removed from RAM. Powerrun does basically the same. MSMount, however, tricks the device in a way that makes it think that the database on the card is in RAM without the need to copy the entire contents to RAM. This greatly increases speed of reading from a large database (I have for instance a 5 MB dictionary database in the MSmount directory).

Zlauncher is definitly my pick. It's just simpler and is a whole lot more then just a "run from stick" app. I've never really had a problem running anything from the stick with Zlauncher and with an NX60 ram is tight so I really use it a lot.

Well, your first choice on your NX70 could be JackFlash, to get 4mb of ROM usable.

Then, i use only ZLauncher, msmount has caused me a lot of errors and resets, so i dont use it anymore.

I ran MSMount under OS4, and I hear it has the same system drag issues under OS5.
(Someone please correct me if that's been fixed.)

By choosing to use ZLauncher to run apps from a memory card, you only get a lag hit when loading a large program, not a constant performance hit all the time.

MSMount is still in beta for OS5! A new update just came out. In the old days we had "PiDirect" for Palm OS4 and earlier, but non functional in OS5 (it fooled the PDA into thinking the files were in RAM). I am an avid ZLauncher user and fan. I've been playing around a little with MSMount. So far, I have seen no performance hit on the T|T3 running at 400MHz. I also use JackSprat and JackFlash along with the T|T3's 54MB of RAM.

I haven't noticed any performance hit from MSMount on my NX80, but I also never noticed any performance hit on on my OS4 NR70 either. I'm not sure where that performance rumor is coming from. MSMount is significantly faster at loading large Read only DBs than either PowerRun or ZLauncher. I use both MSMount and ZLauncher because they have different strengths. MSMount is far superior for large read only DBs like maps, dictionary DBs, address book photos, skins. ZLauncher is great for apps and their small editable DBs and for Apps that usually have to be in RAM to hotsync. I am also a registered user of PowerRun, but don't use it anymore since ZLauncher does all the same things. The only reason I would start using PowerRun again would be if I wanted to play with other launchers, since ZLauncher shortcuts don't work well with other launchers. :)

The new MSMount Beta 4 eliminates the 'system drag'. Beta 3 slowed down my TG50 overall performance, but Beta 4 does not.

I use PowerRun and ZLauncher

I like ZLauncher because it has integrated beaming of files on the card
I like PowerRun because ZLauncher throws an error of some sort (VFS Read Error) on some files. I find that, when copied to MS with PowerRun, these files have no icon.

I tried MS Mount yesterday, but it crashed my palm. Summer's commin, so I'll try new stuff then...

I'm trying MSMount beta 4 and seems quite OK. Speed issues not, but the only issue I have is in combination with TealScript and Autoexec (but here I get into some kind of infinite loop of resets which requires almost a hard reset :( ) - already addressed to the developer - but no response until now. The other issue is that the MSDataImport and the MSMount seems to have problems - ie. Crash.

I personally would like to use MSMount more, cause it's easy to just have large DBs (like Maps or Dirs) on Memory and fake the programm it's in memory. I don't see a possibility to make this with ZLauncher, but perhaps PowerRun has that ability. I would use the MSMount mainly for PDBs - if it would work fine on my NX80 with MSDataImport
