That's awesome news! I had posted (at Techbits) earlier in the week that CompUSA was probably going to list the Zodiac for sale online a week before it hits retails shelves on the 24th...sure enough it got listed even earlier and sold out!
I hope the Zodiac does a great job selling at CompUSA so other B&M businesses will open their eyes and start stocking this wonderful console on their shelves too!

I hope so, Tapwave seems to be everything that Sony never cared to be.

well they up the os to os 6 in the future?! They stated a few months ago they have no plans to offer any upgrade to Cobalt for the current Zodiacs.

A couple of things...
1) The devices have not sold out at CompUSA.com. They're still awaiting being available. This was just a temporary status that they put into their system. According to information I was given by Tapwave (and which I wrote about in a recent article), CompUSA will launch them in the stores on the 24th, but they were to be available on CompUSA.com the previous week (that's this week). So, if true, we should see them become available for sale on CompUSA.com today or tomorrow.
2) Information given previously indicated that Tapwave would be moving away from using Flash ROM in their Zodiacs (presumably in sync with their retail release). If true, an OS6 update would be impossible. Newer models that use OS6 could certainly be possible, but:
a) Tapwave has indicated that they have no plans for new models this year.
b) Tapwave is still focusing primarily on the gaming market and has indicated that ensuring backward compatibility with games is a high priority, something that could be jeopardized if switching to the latest OS.
c) Tapwave has basically commented that OS6 is not a top priority.
So, this is all either good news or bad news depending on your perspective. If you want a Zodiac but are concerned that it could be obsoleted sometime soon with a newer model Zodiac, don't be. If you're a geek that wants to have the latest and greatest version of the Palm OS, you may want to look elsewhere (likely palmOne).

The Zodiac is still an excellent device though! :) I can't beleive how much free RAM is still have, it's awesome (99.8mb!)! :) And the screen...the screens is so bright and clear (although, there are some other screens that I have seen that are brighter)!

I apologize for the mistake in interpretation there. My article (http://techbits.ca/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=748) has been corrected.

FYI, if you live near New York City, I've been told that J&R's brick and mortar store now has them. If you move fast, you might even be able to save $10-30 on the cost:

Wow, now all I have to do is sell enough stuff so I can get a Zodiac. I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the Zodiac can hit retail so I can get the retail warranty on it.

Too bad, even though you can preorder its delivery only - and its estimated ship is the 28th...
