After 3 days really like this machine........

One of the first things I addressed was reading....

I was suprised by Mobilpocket. It gave me the best landscape reading, good font size, margins for both books and the eNews.

eReaded, not as good, could not get font as well sized and it lacks a left margin but it is ok.

Tibr also good right out of the box.

Avantgo was really not acceptable It does not seem to have landscape mode??? I will probably shift all my news reading to Mobipocket and delete Avantgo.

All my other programs worked well, some such as Smartlist, DTG6, and Shadow supported landscape again suprising me.

Set-up Clie Mail addressing all three servers I use, easily set-up the WIFI to my home wireless network. Worked right out of the box again suprising me.

I updated my PowerRun which now addresses both the MS and internal card. So easy, no hassle at all.

I now must address the bluetooth using my T-Mobile Ericsson phone. Hopefully this will set up easily.

I appreciate the advice I received to purchase this unit and would recommend it to anyone including the NX80 users, one of which I use to be.

landscape mode <=> CodeDiver. we 'all' use it. AvantGo works fine in landscape on my ux.

Welcome to the club. Where and how much did you buy your UX?

I know you weren't asking me. But I got a U.S. version here in Moscow, full kit and all. Go figure. Beau-coo bucks tho. Russia doesn't like Mac or Palm at all, so I consider my self pretty lucky on that. The UX is the best I've ever seen! Am real glad I snapped one up before they become too hard to find. Imagine having to by an eBay UX50!

Like you I was once a proud NX80V owner. Needed built in WiFi, and I really like the compact size so I sold it and went with the UX50. Never looked back. AMAZING little machine.

BTW, I highly suggest you invest in CodeDiver. It's pretty much one, if not the must have app for the UX series.

Here are a few shots of what AvantGo looks like on my UX50 w/CodeDiver:

Not sure buddy. That was an old screen shot. I have since deleted that SB. I think I got it on ClieSource in the skins section. If not, do a Google search. Sorry!

One thing I've noticed about avantgo on the ux50 is that it sometimes display the contents in 320x320 (480x320 w/ codediver), but most often the time contents is displayed at 160x160.

Has anyone noticed that? i.e. In Winexprt's screen shots, it is displayed at low resolution (160x160 or 240x160 rather). You can tell because the title font "USA TODAY" has jagged edges. Sometimes when avantgo does display in hi-res, everything display smoother and crisper...

Does anyone know how to make avantgo always display at hi-res? The only way for me to do that is to be online while using avantgo, and refresh the contents constantly to have hi-res. Once I go offline, everything becomes 160x160.

Yes. You are right. The graphics in AG (mostly) are in low resolution. I don't think there is a way to make them high-res all over. I think each provider sets there own prefrences. :( I would LOVE to see High-res, widescreen graphics. Oh well!

One interesting thing though...when I use AG as a web browser, the graphics are ALL in High-res...but they are really tiny. Dunno why the difference between off-line syncing and online browsing with the graphics. I think it has to do with the server.

Thanks for the comments,
I did install CodeDiver and Avantgo worked as displayed above, although I have lighter and smaller text.

In answer to where I got the unit, it came from Best Buy on line as an exchange for my NX80.

winexprt, a friend of mine has an older clie with display 320x320. and he was able to view all the offline AG contents in hi-res, well at least that's what he claims...

anyone has a clie w/ 320x320 and is able to display AG contents in hires?
