This thread (older) has some excellent suggestions: http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3855&highlight=books

The search function is your friend.

I haven't checked every link in both threads, but so far, it seems to me that Memoware has more free ebooks that can be downloaded directly in a format readable on PalmOS without further conversion.

They also have more free books that can be downloaded directly in formats for popular PalmOS readers, like PalmReader, TomeRaider, HandStory, and ISilo, as well as DOC format that is readable by almost all PalmOS readers.

Here's a link:

http://memoware.com

and their site's internal search engine is one of the best anywhere.

The best site I know is PDAbooks.org -- already mentioned, I think. It's free! And really well organized. The only frustration is that you have to download the books as zip files and open them up, odd given how small they are. I must have over 200 ebooks now, and they all fit on a 64 mg MS.

You could also try www.fictionwise.com and search for free e-books. They also support most major reader formats - mobipocket, palmreader etc.

Theres a pretty big list at palmonecity <http://www.palmonecity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=218>, and theres another HUGE list at <http://www.e-book.com.au/freebooks.htm>

A couple of the bigger ones not already mentioned are Baen <http://www.baen.com/library/> which has more contempory books, and
Blackmask <http://www.blackmask.com/page.php> which has lots that are nicely sorted.

What are some good classic ebooks that you guys recommend that can be acquired for free?

I am going on a trip to Europe and would love to kill my time reading classic ebooks.

Another good one for David Weber fans (Honor Harrington - Sci-Fi) is http://honorverse.pdabooks.org/

There's also a "Friends of Honor" link on that page that will get you to some other sci-fi/fantasy authors. What I like most about that site is that they offer direct mobipocket downloads. Awesome!

Does anyone know of any good resources for audio books besides Audible? In particular for UK books?
