I have just switched over to the SJ-33, having used a Visor Platinum for the last few years, I've always had some spare batteries on hand at work in case my PDA ran out of juice. Now that I have the rechargeable SJ-33, I'm wondering what I should do about getting a second recharger. Having used a HOTSYNC cradle for so long, and liking it, I'm considering purchasing one from SONY.
My question is do I go with the CRADLE/charger (and take 1 charger to work) or do I get the CRADLE and maybe go for the SONY's battery powered charger? I'm thinking this would take care of any mobile needs that may arise in the future.
Does anyone out there use SONY's battery charger to help juice up their CLIE's at work? What is the battery life like? Is it any slower than the standard AC charger?
Thanks in advance for the advice!

I saw on Best Buy's site a Belkin charger for $20 that you can use at home/office and it can be converted to a car charger too for the SJ30. Not sure if it would be the same charger for the SJ33.

I don't see the one for the SJ on the bestbuy site anymore but this is from Belkin's site:

http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=1979&pcount=&Product_Id=126196&Section.Section_Path=%2F%2FRoot%2FMobileSolutions%2FPDAAccessories%2FPower%2F

I would get that and then the cradle from Sony.

Ebay has lots of chargers available. I bought a car charger (haven't needed to use it yet) and a USB Hotsync/charger cable. I keep the USB Hotsync/charger cable at work. So far, the few minutes a day I have my CLIE hooked to the cable is enough to keep it charged above 80% at all times. I've had it for 2 months, and I have yet to plug it in to *intentionally* charge it, and I have yet to see a "low battery" warning.

My security was always in having spare batteries on hand for my IIIxe. I saw the rechargeable battery in my SJ20 as a con, not a pro. But those fears have gone out the window. I'm at peace with the whole rechargeable battery thing now - given the SJ20's excellent battery life...

I'd highly suggest a combo Hotsync/charge cable. They're great! No need for an AC adapter. It pulls power from the USB port.

problem is I'm a teacher in a portable... and our board in their infinite wisdom deems having computers out in a portable as a high theft risk. ie. I have no desktop/laptop to plug in a USBcharger... but thanks for the info.

Infinite wisdom....

Well, there's always the car charger. If you drive more than 15 minutes to work, that should top off your battery every day just fine.

I have read that the battery powered chargers only get 4 or 5 charges on a fresh set of 4 batteries, that's why I never got one.

The official Sony AC charger is only $30 or so, I might buy one of these. I assume the EBay ones work fine, but I just want to be safe with the battery in my CLIE (also a SJ33)
