I recently sold off my TG50 and bought a used NZ90...
I would appreciate to hear your thoughts on the following:
- What are the pros and cons for the UX50 vs. NZ90. Should I have bought a UX50 ??
- Will I be able to transfer my info. from the TG50 to NZ90 by hotsynch-ing ?
- How many pictures will I be able to download on a 64 MB Mem. stick ?
- How many minutes for a video on a 64 MB ?
In advance, thanks a lot for your input !!

i have a UX50 right now and i have purchased an NZ90 for really cheap, it should be coming on tuesday.
i would guess the screen is much better on the NZ90 as far as size goes.
also the NZ90 has less memory
the NZ90 has a better camera.(2megapixel vs. 1/3 megapixel.)
NZ90 is MUCH bigger.
Nz90 has removable battery.
in my opinion the UX50 has a better keyboard.
the UX50 has WIFI and Bluetooth while the NZ90 only has bluetooth and you have to buy a wifi card for it.
thats all i know from what ive seen and researched.

Thanks Dann ! As far as size, could you give me some insights if a leadercase for a TG50 will also fit for the NZ90 ?? I bought one really nice in Mexico City about a year ago that still has 1 extra inch of space ?? My first guess would be that the only difference (size wise) would be the extra camera ? Am I mistaken ??
Once again, thanks so much ! Greetings from Brazil !

The NZ-90 is probably twice the volume of the TG-50 (with no flip on, at least). The thing is a damn beast, still think the nx80 is a better machine...

Dann, thanks again !! I looked at the specifications, and you´re right... the NZ is 60% heavier, 12% taller and 50% heavier than the TG50... it is a monster... however one of the main reasons for selling my TG50 was that it really slipped off my fingers in 4 occasions. With that bigger size, I´m probably better off...
The only sad thing about it is that I bought this second hand NZ90, just after Sony announcing that all Clie products will be discontinued...

I recently sold my UX50 and purchased a Pocket PC (Hey I was experimenting) and missed the Palm OS so I sold the Ipaq and now have the NZ90. In my opinion, the NZ90 is a much better machine than the UX50. Not a lot of software out there right now to support the landscape view of the UX50 so a lot of software run on 3/4s of the screen with the other 1/4 being the virtual graffiti area. And the UX50's screen is really small.
The NZ however doesn't have as much memory as the UX but add on memory cards are readily avaliable and the NZ can be hacked to use CF cards, cheap memory there. Not having built in Wi-Fi doesn't really bother me (Though I'm sure it does a lot of people) but overall I just really like the NZ90 more than I did the UX50. And the UX50's built-in camera is HORRIBLE!
On the size thing, the NZ is bigger than the UX but not by a whole lot. The NZ is longer and thicker but still fits in my pocket (All I care for) and on the weight issue...c'mon is 10 ounces really that heavy?

i put my vote on the NZ90. i've had an NZ90 longer than a UX, since i couldn't really stand the UX's small screen and lack of a CF slot. i rarely use the wifi cause internet browsing on the UX is bound to strain your eyes. it's not that hard to slip in the wifi CF card into an NZ90.
from the 2 clies i've had, the NZ90's screen was sharper and brighter. the design has a more sturdy feel to it (not just cause it's heavy) and the camera is great. bluetooth should be gaining popularity as more phones come with bluetooth, allowing internet access anywhere instead of confined to a starbucks or other hot spot.

dannn,
what made you buy an NZ (besides the cheap price)? Are you considering switching to the NZ? Also, where did you grab your NZ from?

i just wanted to see how the NZ is. plus i found one used with all accessoires, 2 batteries, car charger, 4AA battery extender for 300 bucks on ebay so i took it.
so far i like the NZ90 and i like the camera part of it the best but the battery life is really bad.

I used both devices, so I got the comparison.
Some pros and cons to add:
UX50
+better keyboard
+better support for MS Pro Media
+fast Internal Memory
+more RAM
+Landscape Mode
+Wifi Sniffer
+better video quality
-very small screen
-no potrait mode possible
-only 3 hardware buttons
-slow CPU (raw calculation power)
-insufficient software support for the dynamic CPU
-MS is not fully inserted in the slot, so it easily pops out
-no support for Margi-Presenter-to-Go
NZ90
+CF Slot
+AV-Output (Though its only useable with ClieAlbum. Still you can do PowerPoint Presentations if you save them as .jpg)
-camera is very slow
-battery voltage is inconsistent and drops rapidly when camera is used
-insufficient RAM
-no landscape mode
I would actually suggest to use a Cybershot U30 instead of the NZ's camera. It does better photos and works muuuuuch faster. Its really a difference if you can take a photo with one click or if you have to wait 6 seconds before the camera app starts. The U30 is very small. So in combination with most Clies you are still less encumbered as with the NZ.
