View Full Version : So I got a second T665 - not happy!

Bought 1 T665 for wife, happy. Bought the second one for myself - ooouch.

When I shop for the second one, I notice the screen is not evenly lit, so I asked the shop to order another one for me.

Upon arrival, the second candidate is still a tad unevenly lit but not obvious in comparison, so I paid for it. But when I get home and compare with wife's T665, big disappointment! Could have bought hers along and compare before I pay. Darn!

Wife's T665 is bright and white, but the new one has a green hue in the backlit and is not as crisp. And while the uneven brightness problem is not as bad as the first candidate I've examined in the shop, it becomes noticeable when compare to wife's one.

Check the serial number, the first purchase is 3059816, the second one (or the substandard one) 3030851. Oh well.

I will definitely talk to the shop tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath, because the problem seem to be in a grey area that perhaps even Sony won't do anything about it, so I won't expect the vendor to be any more responsive (never mind "responsible").

Wonder if anyone has experience or advice to share?

bring your wife's Clie along for comparison and please don't forgot your warranty card. The standard issue should be bright and white and noting your description, it is definetly a defect. Give you moral support to demand a replacement.
