I've been trying out ptunes recently and for a few days I have it streaming audio while at work.
The problem I'm running into is that while ptunes is playing a shoutcast stream, if I try to syncrhonize through the wireless network as I normally do, it bombs at the point where it tries to identify the user.
Anyone able to do this?
I can hotsync via the usb cable while ptunes streams music over the wireless network. But the point is to not use the usb cable and to hotsync via wireless while streaming with ptunes.
Bluetooth not an option, i don't have bluetooth on my desktop.
I guess i'll go bug ptunes also, just wanted to see if other clue users come a across this and if they found a way to get it to work.

No problems here. Listening a 96kbps stream and sync at the same time.
Wow I didn't think that you would be able to do this... That's pretty cool...

Interesting, so when you sync you are syncing over wireless and NOT over a usb cable or BT adaptor?
I just got an email from ptunes support indicating that in all their tests, with devices they can only handle one network activity at a time.
Which answers why, if I stop ptunes then try hotsyncing it works. I did another test just now, ptunes is streaming over the wireless network and I fire up NetFront, it comes up and loads the last website I went to from cache, but when I enter in another website to bring up, it doesn't work, it times out.
I email ptunes support for further clarification. I think that this a case of the palm os not being able to multitask. Supposedly palm has indicated OS 6 will be able to do true multitasking, but that doesn't help me now :).

if you are streaming over wifi, would you be able to sync over BT ?

Probably, but I don't have BT on my desktop. I can stream over wifi and hotsync with the usb cable so I don't see why BT wouldn't work. But I want to do streaming over wifi and hotsync over wifi at the same time. But since I can't even use NetFront to view web pages while ptunes is streaming, or check email (Agendus Mail) while streaming, it's looking really like you can only do 1 wifi activity at a time.
I haven't trolled the ptunes forums yet as ptune's support suggested. Maybe those folks figured out something....

ok. sounds possible but if palm os can't multitask, I think my BT idea is dead too.
can real player stream? or is there a way to play wma/wmv stuff in palm? or stream them?

i don't think this is possible. one time i was surfing via wifi and thought i'd check if there were people around me with their bt enabled. when i tried checking for devices i got a pop-up window saying something like i can't have both bt and wifi on at the same time.
