A number of months ago I purchased a SONY Bluetooth Module PEGA-MSB1 from the internet. The module arrived with a CDROM with Japanese instructions and installation. It actually installs in english as regards the NR70.

My question - while the BT Module will search for and find other Bluetooth devices like phones and other PDAs, I am having problems connecting to Socket's Bluetooth GPS receiver. I can Discover the Socket device but I get stuck at the "passkey" step as the connection is a simplex one (the Socket only broadcasts and does not receive). If I attempt to use "Connections" and its Bluetooth option, I can not find the SoketGPS either.

The Socket GPS links fine once discovered and ported to the serial port with my iPAQ as well as to my laptop via a BT USB port.

All I have ever really wanted as an addon to my SONY NR70/V was to connect to a GPS and navigate with my TRACKER mapping system. It can be done if you hassel to get the serial cable but a BT connections is elegant! My NR70 BT looks for but does not find the Socket GPS - A REAL BUMMER!!!!!!

I was in Brisbane and saw an English language BT at the SONY Central. I have hunted high and low to see if there might be a place to download the SONY BT drivers but to no avail. Any help out there? Seems like this should just run and go as is but.... may be I am missing something important in my inability to read Japanese.

Thanks,

I think what you probably need is a palm application ap that will accept and translate the data from your Socket. When you try to have the identify each other which device asks for a passkey?

Your PassKey should be "0183" as per stated at http://www.socketcom.com/pdf/gps/BTGPSNavKituserguide.pdf
Hope that helps.
