OK, here is a solution to something that was causing me concern....

When there were a load of posts to read and I could not do it in one sitting I had a problem: :o

I would leave the computer with the board on screen, come back later, hit New Posts and find that it seemingly forgot about the several pages I had not read yet.

I have found a solution with the help of a friend who knows how the system works....

1. Click Quick Links
2. Click Open Buddy List

A window will appear, a little like an instant messenger - keep it open (minimise if you want). Now you will find that the posts no longer vanish...

I would also recomend adding a person or two as well as it can actually be a handy thing to have. :)

But why does this work?

Well, the vb software keeps tabs on users who are actually active, if you don't do anything for over 15 mins it assumes you have gone. Hence when clicking New Posts you get pages posted since the 15 mins were up!

Anyway, I do not know if I was the only one with this problem - I thought I would share this information anyway to help anyone who needs it. :D

If you want to remember threads that you may not have time to read, you should just subscribe to the thread. When you have more time all you need to do is go to the User CP and look into your thread subscriptions.

Or

If you leave your computer on all the time you could just open each new thread in a new window and only close them after you have read them

That's a lot of clicking about and unsubbing afterwards.

The problems comes if you have 4 pages to look through or more, you end up with a screenful. Also, remembering which you have read can be tricky.

Try my method - it's nice and simple. :D

Have to agree with CWolf - I had only just signed up at PamCity when the sites merger happened and for some reason I only just figured it out. So I have pages and pages to go through!

I have A problem,
I'm viewing this website from my Palm,
and I wanna be able to lookup all new posts that I didn't check yet, (even if I get signed out)
not only all new posts since my last visit,
on other forums I've seen it very much, is there any way I can do it here too?
Thanks in advance!

If you view the threads in their topic groupings, they show unread messages, unlike the "search for new messages" feature that only shows a diff between searches.

I know, but that will only help if I'll go to every topic one at A time, wich is very time consuming.
