Over the past five years, I have hopped from PDA to PDA faster than .....(insert some country witticism here)

Typically I move through production machines (daily drivers) about every six months, and for the last two years I have been totally Palm OS based machines. I have owned numerous Clies and every one of the Tungsten line (all four).

I woke up last month and had a Clie TH55, a Clie UX50 and a Tungsten T3 all at once. At that moment, I realized I had gone totally overboard with PDA insanity. To purge myself of this problem (and make the wife happy), I sold all of them!

Note, I actually do need a PDA for basic stuff (PIM, reading, etc), but rather than keep one of my top of the line models or buy another new machine, I went out and bought a Tungsten T on ebay. I chose that machine as I loved the TT form factor, and I have gobs of Tungsten remnants I can make use of. The good news is that I only spent abour 100.00 on the machine (down from the 500.00 I spent two years ago!). The bad news......you guessed it, the sickness is taking over and making me look at T3s. Make it stop!

note, I am holding off the sickness by promising that I can get a new OS6 machine in 2005.

I thought you may find this funny (or sad), but that many of you are the same way.

Here is the list of PDAs since 1999:
Everex CE machine, Newton 120(2), Newton 130(2), Newton 2100 (2), Psion Series 5, Psion Revo, Palm III, Palm V, Palm VX, Palm TT(2), Palm TC, Palm T2, Palm T3, Clie T610, Clie T665, Clie NX70, Clie NX70v, Clie UX50, Clie TH55, iPaq 3100, iPaq 3600, HP 540, HP 560, LG Phenom, Workpad C3, Workpad, Zaurus 5500, and I know I am leaving something out!

That means 31 in 42 months, or around on every 1.7 months. Note, many of these were not "production" so I still maintain my 6 month cycle on production units.

I feel better getting this off my chest. I now set the challenge and try to take my current Tungsten T through this date Next YEAR!!!!!!. This is of course barring any technological problems with the machine.

Keep your eyes on me and I will update you guys as I try to fight the fever.
