Can I change the HotSync Name without doing the Hard Reset?

I got a new TH55 and ready to give my TG50 to my friend. Since I already install bunch of useful softwares in the TG50, and my friend would like to keep it.
The problem I have is how to change the handheld's HotSync user name without doing the hard reset? so that I don't need to install all the software again.

Easy enough to do - bare in mind however that any registered software may revert back to demo:

1. Go to Palm Desktop
2. Click on the current user name in the top right, a menu should appear.
3. Choose Edit Users
4. Rename the current user
5. HotSync.

Done! There you go, no HR needed and all software will be intact. :D

You may want to delete your contacts and personal stuff afterwards on the Palm if you are giving it away. ;)
