Well this is a time I wish there is a S&B forum. But I gotta work with what I got. Yawn... a preview anyone?

Its nice and simple, maybe too simple... I dont know.. quite a unique style and maybe you can find a suitable background. The Bam SB and VG looks good with it...

That has to be one of the most difficult to read themes I've seen yet. The black on grey icons are almost impossible to see and the small icons are even worse. I hope you can improve this by summer or I certainly won't be positively stunned. :)

I'm shocked and stunned, please put it out of it's misery.
You really did it and it's not even summer dude.
Can you go do that on PPC too.
You are the # 1 stunna

I think we should cut the guy some slack. He's just a kid and this might be his first skin. He certainly shows artistic talent, skill, and creativity. :)

He has better artistic talent than me, thats for sure. Keep up the good work.

Actually, I think "vision" is good thing and a good term to use.
I was referring to some of the earlier posts. :)

:D That's what I get for speed reading! I totally misread "Nice, Vision" a reprimand as "nice vision" a compliment. Oh well, sumthingpalm does show vision.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the feedback. I understand that some will like it and some wont. Every skin is like that. This also isnt going to be my first skin release ;) . This will just be my first skin release under my new company ;) . I got to say this is pretty good for a 15 year old too :D :p ;) .

Sumthing Palm...
This is a very good skin. I understand that there is a great deal of time/effort that goes into making them. The dark tones may be interpreted as hard to read, but on the other hand they could be interpreted as simple and refined... Sometimes flashy gets more attention but in the end is just what it started out as, flashy...
Keep up the effort going towards these skins...
You can place a little stock in my comments in you want to, as I have a degree in art and many years of experience teaching it...

Sumthing,
We all need criticism, and need to know how to convert it to improve your product in any business. "Sumthang" you need to learn despite your age.
You guys can not sugar coat a presentation as it will mislead presentator in your supportive respond learning of his age. It clearly is not ready for market. This comes un-sugared as my one person opinion whether I'm an artist or not.
Advise: Ask the forum readers for their opinion, take all input to improve product in steps to form a finished masterpiece. Don't just throw it out there and "stunning the people". Wait that's what you wanted.
Take or leave it.

I totally didnt mean I didnt want your advice. I am considering all of your suggestions. When this skin is complete... it will stun you. Please remember that this is only a preview, not the full skin. I can not wait to share with you the rest of the skin and your suggestions in action. In the end... this skin will stun you.

Vision,
You're a little tough on the guy. He may be young but I don't see him as arrogant.
Sum
I don't object to the black screen but the black on grey icons are very difficult to see and it's almost impossible to understand what they do. When I use icons, I need them to be visually clear and easy to understand. Unless you have a tap and hold for the icons (which rather defeats the purpose of the icon, I think), I wouldn't be able to figure out what the icon does.

Could the lines drawn with the gray of the theme be used to differentiate between the shapes of an icon? This *should* help to make the icons more readily identifiable... Keep up the artwork and stay true to YOUR vision...

sumthing,
The skin has a nice 'look'/flow to it. I think you have, thus far, done a good job with it.
If you look at your most recent screen-shot, and look at the TABS ... you will notice they are black text. Granted this can be changed in the colors section.
Just below the category Tabs, there is the FILE manager TYPE INFORMATION (seeing you are looking at either a MS or SD. That text color on that is, I believe, not changeable. So you might want to think of using a little 'lighter' color. This will also change your TRASH-BIN BUTTONS. (you click on your trash bin and it shows the buttons: OK/ALL/DELETE/RECOVER) And I believe the same when you the path name there in the screen shot and it takes you to the CHANGE-PATH screen .... those bottons at the bottom (OK/CANCEL/NEW/RENAME) has black text which I also don't believe is changeable.
With several key buttons having a text color which might not be changeable .... you might want to consider changing the color of those buttons to better let the text show through.
Just my initial thoughts.
Keep skinning... looks great from the screen shot.

Agree with iceman. U should make a better contrast between the graphics and text.

1 more thing. Was looking at some of the skins on Palmgear and this 1 looks alot like Glass Metal Blue by Area89 (http://palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&prodid=55124). U should change it some to make it more stand out.

Could be ice_man. I PMed him to tell him not to be discouraged by Vision's remarks (thinking he was a newbie to skinning) and he replied that he had designed other themes under a different company name!

You are correct iceman and iboar. They are both user names of Justin Goldberg. Look at this thread (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51984). I tried to welcome him without saying anything, but you can see his response. Everyone deserves a second chance and it looks like he has some talent, but for whatever reason he still appears to not to want to be totally truthful.

You guys got me. Sumthing Palm is a creation of Area89 and other developers. I will not though disclose those developers as of yet. You will find out who they are when we open. I guess I gave too many hints... good job iceman and everyone else! I will also be more truthful... there have to be some secrets though till my company opens. Well its glad to say who I am. I am Justin Goldberg, Area89.

You keep on Stunning everybody and see what remarkable response you receive with your "Business". Keep up the good work why don't you.
