I've had my NX since Christmas and have been happy with the battery life. But, in the last couple of weeks, I notice that it seems to be draining faster and faster. Sometimes I can literally sit and watch the percentages drop. I have been using the WIFI some, and leaving it in even when I'm not using it. I understand it draining fast when I use the WIFI, but should it drain even when I'm not actually using the card. I do have the powersave feature checked on the WIFI network prefs. Other than adding the card, the only real difference is that I used ATool to increase my shutoff time to 5 minutes from 3. But, that is rarely an issue in any case. I'm starting to wonder if I might be having a battery problem. Thanks for any feedback....

It's quite possible the battery is dying. Proving it might be difficult and at the moment, I think a replacement is only available from Sony.

One thing is to make sure your unit isn't coming on when your sleeping or not paying attention to it. If an errant app is running all the time, and it can, even though the unit appears to be off. It's also quite possible that a memory card or a WiFi module can do it too.

How could I check for a program running that I don't see?

A hard reset could be one way. If the battery drain stops, then it would be process of elimination. Trying the most probable apps first. In my Handspring Visor days we had certain issues concerning this. I forget what app it was, and the other issue was that certain CF memory cards would not go into the sleep mode. Defective Memplug modules were known to go bad too. I suppose a defective MS could cause it too, although I don't know of instances of such. Most probable is the battery, but it would be nice to prove it, than guess.

Hmmm.... okay. It is being a bit better tonight. I've been using it about 1 1/2 hours tonight and it has gone from 100% down to 70%. I guess that isn't too bad. If it picks up again I will backup again and do a hard reset.
