Ok, any insight would be greatly appreciated. I just received my UX back from sony support. When they sent it back it still had the games such as Aargon and the like still on the unit but now Zlauncher and all my other apps that I have spent (what seems like years) alot of time configuring are all gone.

I had them sync'ed up to my work laptop for my last hotsync. I have been let go from my job the day after I sent my clie in to support.

My old employer took a flash of my harddrive and has been so kind as to download the entire backup onto a CD for me and sent it in the mail. I should receive today or tomorrow.

My question is that now I have to do a hotsync but how do I make sure that it syncs with the right information? I used my home computer as my second pc for hotsync but didn't back-up for nearly 2 months. I used my work pc to do backups.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Do I just change the info on the CD and replace the backup folders that are on my computer. I just want to do this right the first time.

Thanks ahead for your help.

Dan

You have to replace the backup folder in your hotsync name folder. If you run things off internal media you need to delete and paste the backup on there too. BTW, what kind of job needs you to have a UX50 and will "let you go" if you dont?

I recently reformated my computer last week, it is a bit similar to your dilemma. You are right, all you need is access the CD backup and look for drive C>Programs>Sony Handheld. Now simply copy the entire Sony Handheld and paste it over your computer at home by accessing drive C>Programs, then Paste. But DO A BACKUP OF YOUR ORIGINAL "SONY HANDHELD" FOLDER LOCATED FROM YOUR CURRENT PC/LAPTOP FIRST BEFORE PASTING THE COPIED VERSION OF THE "SONY HANDHELD" FOLDER FROM YOUR OFFICE PC OR CD BACKUP. Good luck!

They let me go because the companies marketing and engineering groups couldn't produce what we were selling. They didn't require the UX50. It was mine that I bought and it is my savior.

I actually thought it was cool of them to send me a CD of information from my computer even though I don't work their anymore. I am going to try what is stated above. Hope for the best and thank you.
