Can MG Memory sticks still hold other data on them such as videos or MP3s or is it strictly limited to ATRAC music files and nothing else?

The reason I am asking is because the new Memory Stick Pro line just announced (it will come in 256 meg, 512 meg , and 1 gig sizes) will only be Magic Gate, not normal Memory Stick and it would be nice to have more than 128 megs for MP3s.

So, can MG Memory Sticks play MP3s and hold other files, or is it strictly limited to ATRAC?

Thanks

To be more precise. The MG sticks where built for music (ATRAC) storage. Some MP3 music if copy protected will not play. You can hold other data without a problem.
I owned a few sony crap (ATRAC) devices and if the music is protected or video your out of luck.

Actually, that's not true. Magic Gate sticks are identical to normal Memory Sticks except they also play ATRAC files. They in no way limit the playback of any other file type.

well,i beg to differ, some readers of the MS and MG are different. And sony plainly told us users Not to use MS reader with MG sticks ( because it would messup the data on the stick ). But know a days it seems like readers a better quility and are less likey to missup the data on the sticks.
