I am registered user of meglauncher and since switching to OS 5.0, I have been waiting for the newer version. I emailed tech support and no response. I check their website weekly, no update. Just plain MEGASLOW.... Honestly, by the time they upgrade, you would have to pay a lump sum again b/c it has been so long ago that you purchased the original program. Anyways, any word as to the release of the beta version for OS 5.0? Thanks.

No, not a word. I don't understand it. So I decided on ZLauncher. I too was a registered ML3 user.

Although I loved ML 3.2.2, I gave up waiting (over a year since last update, but MegaSoft2000 games have almost all been updated several times in that period) and went with ZLauncher. Very nice--you might give it a try. It only took me about an hour of playing with ZL before I decided to register it, and I normally like to try something for a week or so before deciding.

I'm glad this is not as hyped as the LX waiting game. We'll see what happens next month if their history of releasing new/updated apps in the beginning of the month holds true.

It´s a disgrace how megasoft2000 let their ML users hang out.
I´m a registered ML user and loved this app. But things are going forward and ML 3.2.2 is everything but state of the art. I also tried ZL and was impressed. But the first versions I tried were not as reliable as I´m expecting from any app on my Clié, my launcher in particular. But since ZL 2.21 all problems, on my machine at least, are gone, so I registered it.
Though I´m looking forward to ML 4.0 I don´t know what it will do over ZL. Even if there will be the one or the other feature in ML 4.0, ZL doesn´t have currently (but what could this be?), request it at ZZtechs and you will have it most likely in a few weeks.

I used to love ML and used it ever since the first release. In the last year their support left much to be desired. I'm sure some will disagree with that but I'm basing my opinion on my own experiences with them, or lack there of. Of the 4 occasions I've had to email them with a question, I've recieved a responce 1 time. I was on the beta team and was pleased with the progress in the first 10 days. After that, they closed up shop and never told anyone about it. I dont know if there still is a public beta going on but it does not appear so to me.
I'm sure there will be an ML4 at some point this year. I very seriously doubt that it will take the place of ZL on my CLIE. The customer support alone was enough to convince me to switch.
BTW - with the Copperdeck II skin in ZL - I think I have finally found my perfect launcher, looks and brains - what a gal!! :D
Sure we are all waiting this new release. But I rather prefer to wait a little bit more and to have a 200% bug proof launcher like Megasoft2000 is used to publish !
Do not forget that a launcher handle all your files...

I too have given up on ML. I have been using it since the old Palm V (not even Vx) days, and it was one of my core programs. I was part of the beta team for the new version, but since I upgraded to the Tungsten T (from the T615) a few weeks ago I have been using Launcher X. I needed a launcher that supported OS 5 and had a file manager built in, and LX provides it, so I bought it and have been very happy since. It is fast and stable, and does what I need it to do (the most important criteria in any software).
I am bummed about MegaLauncher, and MegaSoft in general. They had been one of the most highly regarded Palm OS software companies around, and certainly led the way on high-res and high-res+ implementations with their games.
Now that I am comfortable with Launcher X, I see no reason to change back with (and if) ML is finally released.
I did try ZLauncher, but I don't like background images or colors, so LX is perfect for me (esp with Mac OS X widget icons).
And yes, even tho I no longer own a Clie, I still visit this site for overall Palm info; it is one of the best!

I'm still waiting on ML4.0 (beta tester), although I do have a registered copy of Yishow.
Lately, I have found myself going back to the built in launcher on my NR70V. It's fast & simple.
