Greetings all,

Being an avid golfer and fan of golf video games, why aren't there any developers coming out with realy good golf games. Granted there was Tigerwoods which was OK at best (and hasn't been updated for OS 5 users) and Ziogolf which doesn't work well on OS 5 either but where are they?

PPC golf games just blow away the few options we have. Is it the OS itself that prohibits it, lack of demand for it. If there are any developers out there PLEASE make one. My dream game would be a port of Golden Tee golf which is very popular and has been developed for the PC and even mobile phones.

I would gladly pay for a good quality golf game.......

There was a Tiger Woods golf game a few years ago, but it got pulled off the market by EA. I don't know why.

It's interface was very Links/MS Golf-like, but it played a bit erratic on my SJ33.
My guess is that it didn't know what to make of the digitizer in the SJ33, so it didn't always register taps.

I still have it in my archives, but I never was able to register it, so it's play is limited.
I tried to do a search for a program to open up the registration, but not being a real filez guy, I didn't get beyond a basic google search.

I guess until a good golf game comes out, you could emulate one on FireStorm or NESem

Jason Goldman was working on a golf game like this a while back. The engine for the graphics turned out so good he decided to mak a flight simulator instead and abandon golf. He says it is coming along good. I guess we will see.

I can recommend a copy of Frodo (C64) emulator [http://frodopalm.sourceforge.net/]and a copy of Leaderboard (you should be able to track that down throught the various C64 archives). It's a great game that work's really well with Frodo. The graphics aren't the most sophisticated, but it plays wonderfully.

There is a golf game for the palm. MiniGolf (http://www.palmgamingworld.com/sports/minigolf.shtml)
I dont know if this is what you have in mind. There's another one, cant recall the link at this time; but I remember finding it and beaming it to a friend that plays golf. Since I have no interest in the sport, I got rid of it.

I love golf games. I ended up going emulation direction. I use to play a fair bit of Mario Golf on the NES, it's an okay game, but then I found MarioGolf for GameBoy Color and Firestorm (http://www.crimsonfire.com/firestorm/)

The stakes are high in the race to become the
Grand Champion of golf in this fun new game for
the Gameboy Color! With 4 courses, 12
practice ranges, 5 play modes and a variety of
mini-games, hours of fun is par for the course!

The golf itself is fun, you have lots of options when making a shot (not as indepth mind you as some of the computer golf programs) and the courses and oponents get more challenging as you move through. But there is also a story and lots of powerups that are needed to become the Grand Champion.

I've been playing it for a couple days...it's a hoot.

That's so funny. I just bought a GameBoy Color at a yard sale for 10 bucks!
I'll keep an eye out for it!

are they going to continue making new courses? cause it seems a little simple for the price they're asking . . . .

couldn't help to notice, no1 mentioned Pocket MiniGolf and Pocket MiniGolf from Momentum Games/Mobile Wizardry. 3rd person, overhead isometric views, camera angles rotated 90deg, and 54 holes in the first while 72 in the sequel. Play by under par or against the clock. The Sequel, as well as its 2 official expansions are out, but they're only for PPC. No word on whether or not it'll get ported to pOS anytime soon :(

Those are icky, static MINI golf games that look like childish versions of marble madness, and crappy 3D garbage, for 2D Golfing done right look at this:

This is exactly what we need for Palm !!
