My clie NR 70 started an endless loop so I had to hard reset (soft one did not work). When I hot sync back with Babckup buddy (or from the BUB on the card), it says I do not have enough memory. I cannot restore my clie. Is there a way to eliminate some files or apps in the BUB or card and then hot sync? Thanks!
Yes. Assuming you use Windows, you can go to C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\your Clie's username\backup and cleanup the apps or database that you don't need. On the same directory, you can look under install folder and also cleanup the folder. You can install them manually again later.
From card, I assume you're refering to BackupBuddy VFS (BBVFS) and wanting to do this after a hard reset. You can do as follows:
1. Go to card category.
2. Tap on Backup icon.
3. Tap restore.
4. Put a check on the apps or database that you want to restore.
5. Tap Restore button.
My guess the problem would not come from BBVFS, but from the Install folder . If you reinstall the Palm Desktop for Clie, the HotSync will load those gMovies (or Kinoma Player) stuff that are on the installation CD back to the Clie. Those files are huge and will deplete your RAM before the rest of your apps installed. So, by deleting those Install files in the PC before HotSyncing, you should be able to restore your Clie via HotSync.

try a warm reset. hold down the up button while pushing reset on the back of your clie. then you can delete some files
