PowerRun would give you the option to NOT show that stupid square icon.  It seems to me it would be a pretty simple thing to do.

Mine doesn't alter the icon; it just appends an asterisk to the name of the program. Get the latest version of the software (it was doing the same for me before I updated).

I kind of like the asterisk / square. It's a reminder of whether the application is in RAM or MS

earlier versions screwed up my icons and put that square thing on them. DL the latest version and that should fix it. It did for me
