Does anyone know how come ZLauncher only costs 12$ and thier support is great and they chomp out versions week after week?

Do they have a huge team? Do they have losts of money? What's the deal? Are they part of a bigger company?

How do they do it???

Maybe they do it for themselves and 'sell it' because they can.  Lots of stuff I do for myself that nobody could PAY me enough to do . . .

Maybe it's the Chinese Government's way of saying "Thank You" for all the technology the Clinton Administration gave them.

I seriously think that they should set the price of Zlauncher higher to $20 and above considering the quality of their services.
A reasonable price would be $15 and additional $2 for major upgrades.

In the software business, especially shareware, there's always a fine line as to what scares people away and what the perceived value is. While the VALUE of ZLauncher far exceeds what they charge, the price certainly won't scare anyone away. In software it really can be make it up in volume. Although the effort they put into fixes and new features is absolutely amazing. I work in the software industry and I wish we could do half of what they do. Talk about customer satisfaction.

Although they've sort of boxed themselves in by saying that upgrades are free, maybe they'll sell add-ons. I've suggested that they make QuickLaunch available as an add-on app so that we could get Launch capabilities anywhere based on what's set up in ZLauncher. I'd gladly pay another $5-10 for that.

We don't know their annual sales of this product nor do we know their motivation (i.e. money, just trying to give something to the PalmOS community, a side project...) So I guess we can speculate forever, but until someones asks we will not know. I trust that they know what they are doing and will make changes as they see appropriate.:)

Now I have paid my $12 they should up the price to $25 so I can benefit from the extra resources. Maybe they'll rewrite the Palm OS and make it multitasking! I miss my Psion's ability to load pages and download mail whilst I did something else.

Don't be so eager to pay more than the asking price for a product, $12 (US) might buy a lot in China.
ZLauncher helps to make up for some of the over-priced software I paid for.

If you really feel like paying more, register another copy of ZL.

I agree, if you want to give them more money, then don't try and force it onto everyone, just give them some more of your own and register another copy.

Since everyone seems to wish they paid more for Zlauncher than they did, I will start a zlauncher collection. Please send only small unmarked bills. lol

Naturally, every developer wants to be compensated fairly for their work, along with the costs incurred during the development phase, but the launcher market is very competitive, and they must price it accordingly. They are most likely making their earnings through volume, volume, volume! :)

On what basis? the laws of economics are in action and they have made their price. That 's it.

Hey! In most people's oppinions ZL was a good deal. Great. Now let them decide what they will do next, quite second guessing who, what, when, where, why and how much and enjoy the damn thing!

Isn't it 3 AM or so over there? I assume they sleep at some point.:D Although I found a small bug with the Color Setup and they e-mailed me a fix to test within 24 hours. Incredible.
